'An old friend'

Y/n's pov

"How? I haven't seen you in years Ji." I sat up to hug Jieun and she chuckled in her mysterious ways.

"It's a major pleasantries to be working as a secretary for your father y/n." She pulled away and sat on the chair.

"Oh drop the language Jieun we're not at work." I said laughing.

"Oh hi! I'm Lee Jieun." She bowed to Mina and mina did the same as well. I was too excited to see an old face that I forgot Mina was ever in the room.

They exchanged names and introductions and I had to butt in before Jieun asks something personally, like she always does.

"We were friends when I was 15. That's when my father started to drag me with him to work." I explained to Mina who looked as if she had millions of questions.

If only I could picture her in that face.

"And I was an intern back then. You can say that we were friends instantly." Jieun remarked and I shushed her before details get spilled in the midst.

"Anyways what are you doing here?" I asked and she shrugged her shoulders sighing.

"It's not everyday we get a call from the hospital saying that Mr. Lee's daughter has been shot."

"Does he know? My dad?" I asked clenching my fist. She noticed and she shook her head.

"Like I said, I'm his secretary. All his calls goes directly to me first, so you are in the clear." She said and I sighed in relief.

It's already stressful that I have to stay in this hospital for a few days, I don't need to deal with my father. Who am I kidding? Even if he knows what's happened to me, How could he care now?

"I told the doctors to don't call any family members. How did they know who to call?" I asked and she gave me a you-know-how look.

"Y/n you are the daughter of one of the riches man here in Seoul. Ofcourse they would call his workplace."

"Can I leave you two to talk? I'm going to catch up with the others in the cafeteria?" Mina said and I nodded, knowing I had no choice. She had already stood up and walked to the door.

It's better this way, atleast I can warn or say any boundaries to Jieun before she crosses a line between her and my friends.

"Is this the same Mina who saved you?" Jieun asked excitedly and I chuckled nodding.

"I'm sorry I had to leave without notice. I couldn't tell you where I was going, you might tell my father." I said and she nodded reluctantly.

"Ofcourse I understand. But you could've atleast waited a few days before your suicide attempt. I was worried sick idiot." She said.

"I was in a rough patch and acted impulsively. Enough about me how are you? How did you get the secretary position?"

We spent a few minutes catching up about her life. Her life is more fun and daring to get involve in. If I didn't leave, will things be different?
