let out all those fears, it has been years
so let me help whip away your tears.
tell me all about those painful love affairs
I am your true friend that cares
about your wellbeing
what did he do to make you so scared?
why are you looked in this darkened room?
Tell me all about him and his worth
why did he throw your love away just to see you hurt?
I cannot express how all of this makes me feel
I don't like seeing you ill, and this is for reals,
he left you broken in your youth
just to see you fade away
in those clouds of gray
Moonlight, let me show you the way
into brighter days
I will help you get through all of this
take my hand and let us talk it all out
we don't need to shout
in this cold September rain, I do see all your outer pains
but all that you hold within, God can wash away those sins.
I have waited for you so long
just to say what you need to
I will help you not to be so confused
I know this beast abused and used
Moonlight, we don't need to get into a fuss
this was never about us,
I felt this coldness that has been pouring out from your heart
this old beast really played his part
that has really come between and left you in the dark
when I look into your eyes
I could see your loneliness, running around in all this coldness
has left you empty and abused in a cold darkened room
now you are laying in a bed of bitterness
but with the time you will heal, and I am being for real,
you will be as good as new, in the end.
