[PRECINCT, INTERROGATION - DAY]

Brandon sits alone at the table. Lance and Keith enter.

KEITH

You have the right to have a lawyer present, Brandon. If you cannot afford one, one will be

appointed to you.

LANCE

He could afford a million lawyers.

BRANDON

He still has to advise me of my rights, right?

KEITH

Right.

BRANDON

Anyway, that's cool. I don't want a lawyer. This is way more fun.

KEITH

Maybe you'd like to just sign a confession, then?

[Keith holds out piece of paper]

BRANDON

Sure.

(takes pen and paper)

I confess... that I'm dying to cop a feel under your cop blouse.

(dropping pen)

There. Now I feel so much better.

[Lance takes out his phone.]

LANCE

You sure you don't wanna call somebody? Your parents, maybe?

BRANDON

Why would I worry them?

LANCE

You know, I made a call just a little while ago to my bookie.

BRANDON

Sweet.

LANCE

I was standing in the street outside Nobu, waiting for my car.

BRANDON

Oh, yeah? I love that place.

LANCE

The black squid pasta is amazing. Anyway, I was talking on the phone when the valet pulled up with my car. And all of a sudden, my call got cut off. I realized, ah... the Bluetooth in my car picked up the call automatically, because they were linked.

KEITH

You told us that all your phones auto-share media files via a Bluetooth link, right?

BRANDON

So?

LANCE

So your phone “linked” with Max's phone the night he was killed.

KEITH

It's a digital fingerprint that places you within twenty feet of Max at the time of his murder.

LANCE

You did say if he got some actual evidence, he should arrest you.

KEITH

You took advantage of Max's guilt over Donny's death, and you got him black-out drunk. And then you put a gun in his hand, pressed it against his temple, and then you pulled the trigger.

BRANDON

Why would I do that?

KEITH

To cover your tracks over killing Donny.
