ACT SIX

[INT. PRECINCT, BREAKROOM - DAY]

Keith and Lance have coffee with Hunk and Pidge.

HUNK

Susan Mailer? Alive?

LANCE

Her body was never found.

KEITH

Yeah. Because she was vaporized in the explosion.

LANCE

Well, maybe she was thrown clear.

PIDGE

Well, then, she would've been badly burned and would've needed care.

HUNK

And no one matching her description ever checked into area hospitals.

LANCE

Mere details, my good man.

KEITH

Um, around here, we call them "facts."

LANCE

Well then, let's go get us some "facts."

--

[INT. PIKE HOUSE, LIVING ROOM - DAY]

Lance and Keith sit with Eleanor and Adam. Eleanor hands them several envelopes.

ELEANOR

Please don't think less of me. I did what I had to do to survive.

[Keith and Lance look through the envelopes. Keith examines the postmarks.]

KEITH

These are from all over the place.

ADAM

Not the recent ones. The recent ones are all the same.

KEITH

Lititz, Pennsylvania.

[He looks at Lance]

LANCE

If we're gonna road-trip, I'm gonna have to pee first.

--

[INT. LITITZ POST OFFICE - DAY]

Keith and Lance are at the clerk's window, and Keith's showing him a photo of Allison Goldman.

POST OFFICE CLERK

I've never seen her before.

KEITH

Are you positive?

LANCE

Didn't he sound positive?

BECKETT

Castle.

[Keith takes out a photo of Susan Mailer, obviously when she was still young (and alive).]

KEITH (CONT'D)

Okay, how about her?

[The Clerk stares at the photo. Beat...]

KEITH (CONT'D)

She'd be older now.

POST OFFICE CLERK

How much older?

LANCE

Twenty years.

POST OFFICE CLERK

I don't think so.
