Act 1

ACT ONE

[INT. McCLAIN LOFT - NIGHT]

Rosa's fingers fly across piano keys. The music is rousing, like the improvised score of a silent adventure film. An elongated shadow play on the wall behind her: two swordsmen in combat, blades clashing as their shadows move across the wall - one advancing and the other retreating, and then the reverse.

LANCE

'You've come to Nottingham once too often.'

VERONICA

'After today, there'll be no need for me to come again.'

LANCE

You've been holding out on me, Sir Robin. I hear you like a boy.

VERONICA

I knew she'd tell.

LANCE

So...who is he?

VERONICA

His name is Owen. He's in my poetry class. Very shy. And very sweet.

[Castle lunges, the point of his blade landing on her chest.

VERONICA

Hey!

[He pulls up his mask.]

LANCE

Keep your guard up.

[She raises her mask as well.]

VERONICA

Then don't distract me.

LANCE

Does he know how you feel about him?

VERONICA

No.

[She lowers her mask, and stands en garde. He lowers his mask as well. They resume fencing.]

LANCE

Why not?

VERONICA

Hey!

[Veronica twirls and Lance jumps over the stair railing. They resume fencing]

VERONICA

Because I don't even know how I feel about him.

[She lunges, disengages his parry, and lands with her tip.]

LANCE

Yes! Very nice!

[They pause and salute . Lance's phone rings. They pull up their masks]

LANCE (CONT'D)

Hello?

--

[INT. APARTMENT - NIGHT]

Hunk looks at the victim hanging out of the safe. Hunk's red-faced, sniffling, his eyes watery.

HUNK

How many bones did they have to break to get her in there?

SHIRO

Won't know till I get her back to the lab.

[Hunk sneezes]

SHIRO (CONT'D)

Don't contaminate my crime scene.

HUNK

Sorry, it must be the feathers.

UNIFORM

Kogane's here.

[At the end of the hall, Pidge is taking a statement from a crying woman. This is Joanne Delgado, early 30s, and the victim's daughter. Lance and Keith walk down the hall to meet Hunk. ]
