Lance drinks a martini. Tiffany enters in a tight, short, hot pink dress. Lance gets up and Tiffany shakes his hand.
TIFFANY
Lance. I'm Tiffany.
LANCE
It's a pleasure to meet you, Tiffany. Please.
[He pulls out her chair for her]
TIFFANY
Wow. A gentleman.
LANCE
We're a dying breed.
TIFFANY
Well, then it's lucky I found you.
[Lance pulls out the chair next to Tiffany for Keith to sit down]
LANCE
Actually, it's lucky we found you.
KEITH
Detective Keith Kogane. We need to ask you some questions regarding your relationship with Councilman Jeff Horn.
LANCE
Sorry.
TIFFANY
He was one of my regulars, but I swear I had nothing to do with his death.
KEITH
How often did you see Councilman Horn?
TIFFANY
Once, maybe twice a week. At first, he just wanted to talk.
KEITH
Right. He paid you just to talk.
TIFFANY
Detective, most men come to me because they're lonely, because the people in their lives don't listen anymore. The sex is just a way for them to feel connected again.
KEITH
Okay, when was the last time that you and Councilman Horn "connected"?
TIFFANY
A couple of weeks ago. He came to me, hysterical. He said that he couldn't see me anymore.
LANCE
What happened? His wife find out?
TIFFANY
No. Someone else. He said that he was being blackmailed. Someone had photos of us.
KEITH
Who?
TIFFANY
He didn't know. At first, he thought it was me. He got upset, and then he panicked. He thought that I had told my friends.
KEITH
And did you?
TIFFANY
It may surprise you, Detective, but I have dreams of my own. Look, this just pays the bills. If our relationship ever went public, he's not the only one that would be ruined.
LANCE
You said he panicked.
TIFFANY
Yeah, he was desperate to find out who was behind it. He wanted to cut a deal. He said that he couldn't keep making payoffs without the campaign finding out.
