Chapter 7 - The Day Of The Party

I woke up today. I sighed. I didn't really want to go to Nick's party, but I already said yes so I guess I will. I took a shower, brushes my hair, put on clothes, and then I sat down on the couch and watched tv until I had to leave. When I was about to turn off my tv I got a text. I picked up my phone and looked at it confused. It just said "Call". I called the person that texted me confused.

"Hello?"
"Hey Zak!"
"Hey.. what's up? I was about to head out for Nick's party."
"Well, that's perfect timing!"
"What do you mean?"
"Come outside!"

I walked outside after turning off the tv confused, to which I saw Darryl smiling and waving at me. I hung up the phone and ran to him. "What are you doing here Darryl?" I asked confused. He smiled. "I'm here to pick you up! Now let's go before we're late!" He said happily as he got back into what I'm assuming was his or his family's car.

I, still slightly confused, got into the passenger seat of his car. He started driving and we just sat in silence. I couldn't tell if it was comfortable or not.

Suddenly once we hit a red light he looked at me with a worried expression. I stared at him confused. "Uhhh Darryl?" He shook his head and looked back at the road as the light turned green. He continued driving.

"Zak are you sure you're gonna be okay to go to this party? You won't be uncomfortable?" He questioned. I laughed quietly at that. "Yes, yes, I'll be fine Darryl, calm down." I replied as I gave him a surprisingly warm smile. He smiled weakly. "Whatever you say Zak."

We were silent for the rest of the drive. We eventually got to the roller skating rink the party was at. We parked, exited the car, and entered to the the building. Nick saw us first and approached us.

"Hey guys! Glad you two could make it." Nick said while holding a cup of b- jk jk, a cup of fruit juice. (And before you ask, no it isn't spiked, they're too young to drink in this Au :<). "Glad we could be here." I said. "Happy birthday Nick!" Darryl exclaimed. "Haha, thanks Darryl. Now, you two enjoy the party, okay?" He said smiling as he walked off.

Darryl and I went over to a counter where we could barrow roller skates, because it had only just now accrued to us that we forgot to bring roller skates to a party at a roller skating rink. Once we got on some roller skates we greeted some friends and then headed out to the rink to join the fun.

Luckily for me, there were only a couple people out there who were all some what distances from each other. So I decided to skate for a little bit. Just a little bit though, I know I'd want to go somewhere 'safer' after a little while.

We skates for longer than I had intended. Darryl almost fell over a few times, thankfully, the wall saved him. Our lord and savior, señor wall. It was going good until we started leaving the rink. We slowly started trying to get to the room with Nick's party without touching anyone and without falling. We failed both of those.

Okay, sure we didn't touch anyone else. But halfway through Darryl fell. But it was awkward. Because he fell on top of me. I don't know how I stopped myself from having some sort of panic attack from my haphephobia, but somehow, I didn't react that way.

Darryl sat up and was now sitting on top of me. On my lap practically. We stared at each other for a moment before he quickly got off. Not only were we both very embarrassed, but I was confused and he was worried because I had made physical contact with another human being without dying. That was an over exaggeration. Maybe.

Once we made it to the room we sat down in a corner and he continued apologizing to me. He continued apologizing no matter how much I said it was fine. I'd be confused if he wasn't diagnosed with some sort of disorder with all this worrying of his. After not long Vincent approached us. He sat in front of us.

"Hey you two- hey, Darryl are you okay? You look worried about something." He said. Darryl nodded. "Yeah, I just accidentally fell on Zak." He replied. I sighed.

"Somehow in some way I didn't react how I normally would, with hyperventilating and stuff. And also he's said sorry to me almost 2,000 times by now, he won't accept it when I say it's okay. So, that's why he's worried." I said softly. Vincent nodded. "Are you okay though Zak?" He asked. I nodded smiling. He nodded as well. Afterwards we all talked for a while before Vincent left to talk to someone. I think Finn was their name? Whatever.

And just like that the others cane crowding into our corner. Dream, George, and Nick came and sat in front of us. "Hey, this isn't too boring for you is it?" Nick asked. I shook my head, no. "Not at all, I'm actually having a lot of fun, but you shouldn't be worrying about me at your birthday party." I said. He smiled and nodded, while scratching the back of his neck.

"So are you two official yet?" Darryl asked, eyes full of hope, as he looked at Dream and George. George shook his head like 15 times. "No! No! We're not! I don't like Dream like that!" We all rolled our eyes. Dream chuckled. Nick chimes in with, "Hey, just tell em'." George's face somehow became more red than it was before, as we looked at them confused.
