Chapter 47 - A Good Friend

Skeppy's P.O.V. || • Skeppy's House •

     I slowly opened my eyes. As soon as they opened I realized, I had school today. It feels like just yesterday that I was at Wilbur's house, but it was actually quite a few days ago. I sat up slowly and stretched my arms. I was far too tied to actually want to go to school today. But I didn't want to worry Darryl, or Vincent really, so I'll go anyway.

I got up and got dressed. I wasn't hungry, so I just went straight to brushing my teeth. After that I get grabbed my bag and headed straight out the door. I began my walk to school. I could see Nick again, however he was very quiet. I didn't see anyone on my walk to school today, well, I didn't see anyone I knew.

After I got to the school I felt a sudden odd feeling. It was a really odd feeling. It wasn't as if my gut was telling me something bad was going to happen, it was just a weird feeling in the pit of my stomach. Not like my stomach hurt, not like a gut feeling, just a genuinely weird feeling.

It stayed with me for a while, but went away halfway through homeroom/enrichment (I think is another term for it). Darryl, Vincent, and Dream still seemed down about Riley, so I acted as if I was sad as well. But I wasn't.

Wilbur's P.O.V. || • Cafeteria •

The cafeteria was loud once again, enough time had passed so that people who didn't know Riley had practically forgotten about it. So it wasn't quiet anymore. The table Zak, Darryl, Dream, and all the others sit at still seemed quieter than before, but not too quiet. It was much like a few days after Nick went missing, they talked, just not as enthusiastically.

My table wasn't particularly loud, but it was louder than theirs. We weren't as close with Riley as they were. "So, what did you guys do during the weekend?" Asked Phil.

"Oh, I didn't do much. Zak came to my house on Saturday, but that's all." I said. "Me and Tubbo went to the arcade again, our Mums said it would boost our spirits." Tommy exclaimed.

"Tubbo and I." Said Dave. Tommy looked at him confused. "What?" "It's Tubbo and I. Not me and Tubbo. Learn how to English Tommy." Dave said as he picked at the cafeteria food.

Most of us were okay with the food in the cafeteria, it wasn't the best but it was edible and it satisfied our hunger, but Dave... let's just say was never much of a fan.

"Hey! You don't get to correct me you stupid son of a b*tch!" Tommy yelled, not very loud, but still, he yelled. Dave threw his empty milk carton at Tommy, and Tubbo started to laugh. As you could see, our table was much more upbeat than theirs.

Phil sighed and face palmed, chuckling a little. Before Tommy could tell at Dave again Fundy and Niki both sat themselves down at our table. They had science before lunch and the science teacher always let people out late when it was time for lunch.

"Hey guys." "Hello everyone!" Said Niki and Fundy. I smiled at them. Tommy, Tubbo, and Phil sat on one side of the table (in that order), Fundy sat on the left of me, and Niki sat on the right of me, she was between me and Dave.

"Hey you two." I said. "Good timing." Phil said with another sigh, since he knew Tommy was about to yell but didn't because those two had arrived. "So, how's everything going?" Asked Fundy. "Yeah, how is everything going? And what did we miss?"

"Oh don't get him started-" Phil was cut off. "OHH LET ME TELL YOU. THIS BASTARD-" Tommy began to complain about Dave. Phil sighed and head-planted the table. Tubbo was snickering, Dave was laughing, and Fundy and Niki sat in silence and confusion as Tommy went on and on about what Dave did. Even though all he did was correct him and throw a milk carton at him, Tommy made it seem like a really big deal.

After those words escaped Tommy's mouth I started tuning him out. I didn't really feel like hearing Tommy complain, so I just continued to eat my food in silence. After a while Tommy went silent. When I looked up to see why, I saw that Tubbo was covering his mouth with his bandana; they wore matching ones. I chuckled a bit and went back to eating, but before I did I looked at what the others were doing.

Tommy struggled, Dave laughed, Phil slammed his head on the table again, Niki started eating her fries, and Fundy just sighed and held the bridge of his nose with his fingers.

Skeppy's P.O.V. || • Cafeteria •

I saw a bit of chaos going on at Wilbur's table, but a lot of them were laughing, much like the rest of the cafeteria, they were in decently high spirits. Getting caught up in a conversation can help people forget about sad things that happen, even if just for a bit.

I was envious. My table was a total bore. I had to act all sad and sympathetic, but really I could care less. They were all so sad and depressing. They were sad about Nick going missing and now they're sad about Riley dying. I wish they would just get over it.

Nick was there though. He was sitting by George, and near Dream. Not like they knew though. Dream was on one side of George and Nick was on the other. Nick wanted to be close to George, in fear of me deciding to hurt him.

I didn't like Nick. But how he cares for his friends, and strives to protect them, even after death, even when he can't do anything, is admirable. It's a nice trait of his. He's a dumb person, a sucky rival, and one idiot of a ghost. But...

He's a good friend.
