"It's over."
That was three years ago. Mattia was now twenty one and was more involved in the mafia life. Ever since he lost his parents and Alejandro he had become more cold and expressionless. People were lucky if they even got a smile. Mattia was sat in his office, doing some paperwork. He got a call from his girlfriend on the computer. He stared at the computer in disgust for a few moments before answering the call.
He put on a sarcastic smile when his 'lovers' face came into view. "Hey, babygirl!" The girl on the other side of the computer smiled and waved. "Hey! How has work been?" She asked, curiously. The tall man nodded. "It's been alright. How's my little man?" The only reason Mattia stayed with her was because they had a kid. Mattia felt horrible but he loved the kid with every bit of him. His little boy was the only reason why he was still going.
A small boy about three years old popped up and beamed. "Daddy!" He cooed. "Hi, Elijah! How has school been, buddy?" The italian asked curiously, chuckling softly when his small boy looked up and scratched his chin in thought. "It's been alright, i've made losts of friends today!" "Is that so?" Mattia asked in a curious tone. The small boy nodded his head rapidly and Mattia could only shake his head. "Well, alright buddy, I love you. I've gotta talk to your mommy now." And with that the small boy was out of sight.
"He's growing so quickly." The girl said, smiling softly and looking off into the distance, most likely watching Elijah. Mattia wanted to roll his eyes but held himself back. "I can't believe you lied to me when you told me you were on birth control at that party." The girl looked at Mattia and shrugged. "Look at what we created. A stunning, beautiful young boy." Mattia scoffed. "He may be pretty but he shouldn't even be here. And I mean that in the nicest way possible." Mattia shifted in his seat before biting at his nails.
"I had to go through a lot of shit for him to be where he is today. I risked it all. I left it all behind. Just so I could be with you and him." The girl sat there, frozen in shock. "It's over." She said in a serious tone. Mattia laughed coldly. "I'll be there to pick up my belongings soon, then. Including Elijah and Bear." Before she could say anything Mattia ended the call and looked around his workspace.
He got back to work, looking through files he had received earlier today on his mafia members. He clicked his tongue and looked through the last bit of them, not being able to focus because his mind was currently racing. He finally finished and hurriedly grabbed his car keys and the files before heading outside.
He set the files and all of his other important things in the passenger seat. He started the car and drove to his and his girlfriend's shared house. When Mattia arrived he opened up the door. The girl was crying, barely being able to contain herself. She attempted to stop Mattia who walked right past her and up into Elijah's room.
Elijah was playing with a set of blocks when Mattia opened the door. "Hey, buddy. Pack your bags. We're moving to New Jersey." The small boy furrowed his eyebrows then nodded. Mattia grabbed two suitcases from the small boys closet and set them down, unzipping them. Elijah began to pack all of his toys while Mattia grabbed his clothes in large handfulls and began shoving them into the other suitcase.
Once finished Mattia grabbed both suitcases and walked out. Elijah ran to his bed and grabbed Bear's collar, the annoyed dog trudging behind. Mattia walked down the stairs, Elijah close behind. "Please, Mattia." The girl begged one last time. Mattia shook his head and ignored her. Mattia loaded up Elijah's belongings and buckled Elijah into his booster seat, Bear's head resting on his lap. Mattia closed the door and ran back inside. A few minutes later he returned with a few more suitcases.
Mattia put them into the trunk and closed it before getting into the drivers seat. And with that they were on their way to Totawa, New Jersey.
Around five hours later they were finally back in Mattia's home town. Mattia clicked his tongue before driving into the driveway of his old house. The house was still in excellent condition, it just brought back memories. And that's when Mattia remembered Alejandro. He looked at his hands and began crying silently. He missed the boy with all of his heart. He would kill to be with him again. He pulled himself together and got out of the car.
He walked over to Elijah's door and opened it. He unbuckled his tired young boy and gently picked him and Bear both up. He walked up to the porch and opened the door with his keys. The place was just the way he had left it. He flipped on the lights and set Elijah down on the sofa. "We'll give you my parents old room." The small boy nodded, still confused.
Mattia walked back out to the truck and began unloading. He grabbed all of the suit cases and set them in the house. He was about to close the door when he seen a familiar face.
Could it be.. Alejandro? No way. No fucking way.
