Mattia groaned as he awoke to his alarm. He reached an arm across the bed and formed his hand into a fist. He punched the alarm clock repeatedly until the annoying ringing finally stopped.
He sat himself up and rubbed at his eyes before groaning loudly. Today was his first day of senior year. He had no idea what to expect, he could only hope for the best. He was very popular at school but junior year had definitely been rough for him. Especially October.
He ran a hand through his hair and stood up, walking over to his walk in closet to find something to wear. Once in the closet he began to go through all of his attire. He settled on a pair of grey sweatpants, a short sleeve Nike shirt, a grey hoodie, and purple Nike shoes.
He walked back over to his bed and laid out his clothes. He undressed himself and quickly changed into his clean clothes. He grabbed his book bag and unplugged his phone before running upstairs.
When he got upstairs a note had been left on the on the kitchen table. It explained that he would be at home alone for the first few months of school, explaining that a business trip had came up unexpectedly for the two parents and Gian would be staying with their grandparents.
Mattia groaned, but then smiled remembering that Gian would no longer be here to annoy him. It still would have been nice to of had some type of warning, though. Mattia opened the envelope and pulled out the money, counting it. Damn, that's a lot of money. He thought to himself before putting the money back and hiding the envelope in one of the cupboards.
Mattia walked back over and threw the note away before trudging to the fridge and pulling out his container of freshly cut fruits. He leaned against the counter and ate them quickly. Once done he set the now empty container in the sink and headed out of the house, ready to catch the bus.
Once the bus had arrived Mattia stepped on, going straight to the back with no hesitation. He sat down beside Kairi. "Aye, Matti." Kairi smiled. "Hey guys." Mattia greeted the other four boys. Roshaun leaned in a bit close, the other boys following his action.
"Did you guys hear about the murder last night? Some guy was like brutally murdered or something like that. He was found in an alley way by that new super market." Mattia furrowed his eyebrows and talked lowly. "You don't think it could be one of our own, could you?" Robert and Alvaro shrugged.
"I mean we don't really have a purpose for when we kill Mattia. It wouldn't surprise me to be honest." Kairi stated. "Did you do it, Kai?" Mattia asked, his voice still low. Kairi nodded his head "Maybe.. maybe not." Mattia hit his arm. "Please tell me you made sure to leave no evidence. And you got the money from him and shit."
Kairi scoffed. "You act like this is my first rodeo. Well it's not." Kairi pulled out an unfamiliar wallet and handed it to Mattia, along with a pendant. "No way you killed a guy from another gang." Mattia admired the pendant and stuffed the wallet into his back pocket.
Kairi smiled big, seeing that Mattia was proud of him. "Oh, but I did." Mattia put the pendant into his backpack pocket. "Well good job, Kai. The mafia could really use this type of money right now. Kairi sat up confidently, still smiling. He was clearly trying to rub it in the other boys' faces.
"Knock it off." Roshaun said, delivering Kairi a slap to the face. Kairi scoffed and rubbed at his cheek, glaring at Roshaun with big pouty eyes. Roshaun rolled his eyes and looked away. Finally the bus came to a stop and the teenagers began to get off of the bus, Mattia and friends being the last ones to exit.
Mattia grabbed his backpack straps, walking confidently. He knew the power he held over the school, and that no one could do anything to knock him off of the top. Him and the other boys walked into the school. Mattia opened up the cafeteria doors and smiled, satisfied. There were definitely more kids here. Many more than last year.
"People need to stop having so many kids." Mattia said as he looked around. "There's gonna be too many to control this year." Kairi crossed his arms. "Whatever, Mattia." Alvaro said. Mattia started walking towards there table. If there's anything kids in this school knew, it was to stay away from Mattia's table.
Each year of high school Mattia and his friends all sat at a specific table. It was one in the far back, closest to all the food so if anyone of the boys were hungry they wouldn't have to walk far to go and pick what the wanted. Mattia sat down near the middle of the tables, his friends filling up four more spots.
"Do you know when the girls will be here?" Mattia asked, pulling his hoodie sleeve up to reveal his rolex. He checked the time and sighed. It was 7:45, school would starting at exactly 8:00.
Mattia took his time to look over his rolex. It was the model GMT-Master II, the Pepsi version. It was his favorite, though in Mattia's eyes it wasn't even that expensive. He had still dropped 20k on the beautiful watch, though. The watch would differ in price depending on the band. Mattia had got the thickest white gold band he could find.
He pulled his sleeve back down and begin to bounce his leg out of impatience. Just as he though the girls wouldn't show, he listened to the doors open and he turned around. He watched as Cynthia, Jenna, Celia, Vic, and Emily walked over to the table. (Believe me, I know none of them sound like they would be in the Mafia and that's the point.. they're kinda just there, y'know?)
The girls sat down and greeted the boys. "I thought you guys would never show." Mattia spoke in a confident tone. "Oh, don't ever be so sure of yourself." Cynthia replied, getting out her phone. "Whatever. Anyways, we'll be having a meeting later tonight at my house. My parents and Gian are out of the house for a few months I guess." The whole group nodded obediently.
Once the bell wrong the group dispersed and headed ed to their lockers to start their first day of school. "This is gonna be so great." Mattia said sarcastically as he put in his locker combination.
