Chapter sixteen

Maryjane's POV

I placed my cup of coffee on the counter top as the morning sun lighted the room

" Good morning doll" Sophia walks in stretching herself still in her pajamas

" Your up so early!

" Yea, I have to go the hospital

" Are you sick or something?

" No, it's my mother she had unfortunate accident yesterday! My voice cracked

" What! What happened to her? She gasped

" Roy happened! I felt my heart squeeze at the mention of his name

" Oh! God, okay I'll go get ready so we could go together to the hospital! She immediately d
Stood up

" Wait what about work? You told me about the rude boss you have now"

" It's Okey I can handle her " she smiled before disappearing to her room.

We walked in St Anne hospital after an hour cab drive , went straight to the hospital receptionist to ask for my mother's room number

"Room number '68' take the elevator at the end of the hallway" the nurse smiled

" Thank you, I told her as we made our way to the elevator.

We reached the floor and went straight to the room number. Placing my hand at the door knob I sighed as I slowly opened the door revealing the dull room with a single bed in the middle in which my mother layed on with machines attached to her body. O stood beside her looking at how pale her white skin has become. I bit my lips so hard to avoid tears rolling down my cheeks. A soft hug from Sophia came in as she sympathize with me

" She's going to be Okey! Her claiming voice whispered

" I hope so" my voice cracked as my fingers laced with my mother's

" Miss Johnson your here! I jolted as the doctor's voice

" Doctor! Good morning" greeting him cheerfully

" Good morning Miss Johnson"

" Just call me Maryjane no need to be formal" I assured

" Okey and whose your friend"?

I turned to find a smiling Sophy as she drowl at the very handsome doctor I chuckled and nudged her with my elbow to snap her out at her daydream

" Oh! Am Sophia and you are"? She smiled while stretching her hand

" Doctor Andrew Kane, it's nice meeting you Sophia"  I watched as they both smiled awkwardly at each other

" Doctor can you tell me hows she's progressing? I asked with a stern voice

" Right! Well she still hasn't waken up so we still don't know if its Hematoma or its just a concussion but her vital signs are Okey so far let's just hope she wakes up anytime soon"

" What if she doesn't wake up" I gasped at the fear of losing another parent flashbacks of my dad been taken away in an ambulance replays itself suddenly and I closed my eyes to remove the memory from my thoughts

" Maryjane are you okay" Sophia shakes me from my thoughts

" Mmh! Yea, am fine( I lied) so doctor what if she doesn't wake up?

" Then we operate, but that's the last option so for now let's wait , she might just open her eyes anytime and go back to normal" he finished

I looked down at her and removed the stray hair on her face as I bent down and kissed her forehead " I love you mom" I whispered

" Well we have to go, I'll be back later in the evening"

"Sure thing leave your contacts at the reception so if anything comes up we can contact you! He ordered

" I will, thanks Doc Kane"!

" Your welcome, It was nice meeting you Sophia! He smiled at her and left

" Whoo! He's hunk doll! She chimmed and I chuckled at her

" Yeah! Well let's get to work before we get fired"

" Right! Let's go" she smiled as she walked past me and kept a virgin Mary statue beside my mother's bed and did the sign of the cross

" Thanks Sophia" she smiled as i stepped Infront of the statue and did the sign of the cross " please watch over my mother" I whispered a small prayer before we turned and left the room.

I arrived an hour late to the Rouhas building I ran down the hallway to the elevator as I shouted a hi to Clara at the reception area . The elevator doors opened and I quickly ran to Antonio's penthouse just as I wanted to unlock the door it went flying open bumping into a hard figure my eyes roamed around his chest then went up to meet the tall towering figure looking down at me with the brown eyes and a concerned look on his face.
