I woke up, a yawn escaping my mouth. I sat up and looked around to see girls talking to each other while getting dressed. I scanned the room for Kiyoko, not seeing her anywhere. She's probably at the dining hall already. The door opened and Kiyoko walked in.
"Y/N! Good morning, I was just coming to check up on you. Sorry I left without letting you know, the other third years wanted to have a quick meeting."
"Good morning Shimizu-senpai. It's alright, thank you for coming to check on me." I flashed her a smile before standing up. I scanned her outfit, noticing she was in her tracksuit. Too hot for the whole thing. "I'm gonna brush my teeth and change, where will you be?"
A thoughtful look flashed on her face briefly as before she replied. "I'm going to head back to the dining hall if that's alright with you."
I nodded, waving goodbye. She waved back before walking out of the room. I walked over to my bag, pulling out my clothes for the day and my toothbrush. I walked into the bathroom. Luckily not many girls were around, so the restroom was pretty quiet. It's only been a day but being around so many people felt weird. I brushed my teeth and quickly changed into black shorts and a plain t-shirt, slipping on my tracksuit jacket. I looked in the mirror, making sure my hair looked decent. The waves in my hair were in a weird pattern from having been slept in, so I put it in a low ponytail. Good enough for me. I grabbed my shoes and held them in my hand until I reached the exit of the building. I slipped them on and headed to the dining hall.
The walk was peaceful, a few cats wandered around. Would've been funny if this was what Nekoma looked like. The cats approached random people as they walked by, weaving through their legs. A pale orange cat walked up to me, a cute look on its face.
"Hello, what are you doing here?" I said as I crouched down to pet the cat. I held my hand up to the cat's face, letting it get comfortable before I touched it. The cat leaned towards me, giving permission. I laid a hand on its cute face, running my fingers through its fur. The cat began to purr.
"See, Kenma. Cat's just don't like you," said a voice behind me. I turned to see Kuroo, Nekoma's captain, with their setter as well. The other boy, Kenma, grumbled a response and nudged Kuroo. Kuroo gave me a small smile and a nod of acknowledgement as he continued to walk past with the setter. I smiled back and turned my attention back to the cat. My stomach growled.
"I'm sorry, I'm really hungry. I gotta go." I gave the cat one more pet and stood up.
"Y/N-chan... of course you're playing with animals."
"Chikara," I said, surprised. I turned towards my best friend, giving him a smile. "First of all, the cat came up to me, how could you deny that cute face?" I pointed at the cat as it walked off with sass. Ennoshita smiled, laughing slightly, taking my hand in his. He pulled me towards the dining hall as I continued to talk. "Second of all, are you just getting up? That's unlike you."
"You know me too well. No, Daichi-san asked me to wake up Tanaka. He wants to make sure everyone eats."
I nodded. We finally got to the dining hall and Ennoshita let me go. "Sorry, grabbing you was a force of habit."
I waved him off, shrugging. "It doesn't mean more than if a cousin were to do it."
He smiled. "You're right." He pecked my temple and gave me a shove. "Make sure you eat so you're not annoying all morning."
Bitch. But he has a point.
