'If you like midnight driving with the windows down. If you like going places we can't even pronounce. If you like to do whatever you've been dreaming about, then baby I'm perfect. Baby, I'm perfect, so lets start right now.'
Griffin x Kio
Kio's POV
I had been trying to teach myself how to skateboard for about a month with no luck. It seemed like I had tried everything at this point.
So I finally gave in and booked a lesson at this indoor skating rink. The lessons were on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for 2 months so I hope this works.
I grabbed my board and hopped in the car, putting the address into my phone. About 30 minutes later, I pulled into the parking lot and found a free spot.
I walked in and was met with a giant rink for roller skating and one for skateboarding. Avril Lavigne was playing really loud over the speakers.
"Hey dude, how can I help you?" I turned around to see a tall boy with dark brown hair, baggy jeans, and a backwards hat.
"I'm here for skateboarding lessons."
"Oh yeah, then I'm your guy. Follow me." I followed him into the empty rink and waited for him to grab his board.
"So you're Kio? My name's Griffin by the way, call me Griff though."
"Ok."
"Cool, let's start with the basics."
We went over everything from how to start to how to stop. The hour and a half long session flew by and I heard an alarm go off.
"Well, that means our time is up. You wanna go somewhere?" I thought about it. I knew I just met him, but for some reason, it just felt right.
"Sure."
Griffin and I left the building and headed downtown to some restaurant he wanted me to try. We stopped in front of the place and I realized that it was a fancy restaurant.
"Wow, you don't seem like the kind of guy to eat here."
"Hey! Never judge a book by its cover, besides they have good food." I nodded and walked through the door that was being held open for me.
After were seated, Griffin and I ordered and started talking about random stuff. He was actually a pretty nice guy and I definitely misjudged him.
Our food came and we dug in quickly, earning weird stares from the sophisticated diners around us.
Once we finished, we paid, splitting the cost. We took a walk through the nearby park and spent most of it in silence.
I started to get tired so I sat down on a park bench. Griffin sat down next to me and I remembered something I'd been meaning to ask him.
"Griff, did we just go on a date?"
"If you want it to be one, then sure."
"Well, I do. But do you?' He sighed, turning to face me.
"Kio, I like you, but I don't do commitment. I've been hurt to many times."
"I understand." We sat there for about 10 more minutes before I decided to go home.
"Well, see you on Wednesday Griffin."
"Later Kio."
As I walked home that day, all I could think about was what he said about commitment. Sounds like he wants to be friends, with a few benefits.
I wouldn't normally be opposed to that, but I was already falling for him. With a little time though, maybe he'd open up enough to be with me.
A/N: Hey guys! I'm going to try and update more consistently, but school might get in the way. My teachers always forget their class isn't the only one I take.
