Jaden x Bryce

Jaden's POV

"Bryce, I'm scared."

"I know baby, but I'll be right here."

Bryce and I were on our to my parents house to tell them about us. I was really nervous because I had no idea whether they'd accept me or not.

I had come out as bi to my parents when I was 16 and they said it was fine, but secretly, I figured they wanted me to lean towards girls.

That wasn't how it went though. The moment I set eyes on Bryce at the Sway House, I knew that I was going to fall for him.

We were about 5 minutes away, and the thoughts in my head were becoming overwhelming. All I could think about was them disowning me.

"Come on Jae, we're here." Bryce climbed out of the car, coming around to my side and opening the door.

I smiled up at him, getting out as well. Right before we stepped onto the porch, Bryce pulled me into a hug, whispering reassuring things in my ear.

"Don't worry, no matter what happens I will be here for you." I nodded, squeezing him tightly before grabbing his hand and walking to the door.

I knocked on the door, hearing voices and footsteps coming closer from inside. Soon, the door swung open and my mom and dad stood there with big smiles.

"Jaden! It's so good to see you!" My mom yelled, flinging herself onto me.

"Ahh! Mom, stop it." I said while she attacked my face with kisses that definitely left lipstick stains.

"And who is this fine young man?" She asked, nodding her head towards Bryce.

"Uh, mom, dad, meet Bryce Hall." Dad shook his hand, while my mom pulled him into a bear hug.

We walked into the house, taking a seat on the couches in the living room. My mom turned off the TV and gave us a big grin.

"So Bryce, have you been taking good care of my son." My dad asked.

"Yes sir, I believe I have." Bryce replied, sending me a smirk.

We all talked for a while longer, just catching up since I had been gone for over 6 months. I finally decided that is was time to tell them who Bryce really was.

"Mom, dad, I have something really important I need to tell you."

"Ok Jaden, you know you can tell us anything."

Bryce grabbed my hand, giving me courage to continue as I took a deep breath.

"Bryce is my boyfriend, we've been dating for 4 months."

Mom's face turned from worried to excited, but dad had a frown plastered on his face.

"Oh Jaden, that's wonderful! Thank you for telling us, I know that must've been hard for you."

"You have no idea. Um, dad, what do you think?" He looked me in the eye, the frown never leaving.

"Honestly son, I'm disappointed in you. I wanted you to find a nice girl and settle down, not some frat boy."

"Charlie!" My mom yelled, slapping his arm.

"I'm sorry Denise, but I didn't raise a homo!"

"Charles, I suggest you leave the room before I do something we'll both regret." He huffed, standing up and going into his office.

"Don't worry baby, your dad will come around." I sighed, getting up and sitting next to my mom.

"Thank you for accepting me."

"Of course, you're my son. When I gave birth to you I vowed to love you through everything, and this is not worthy of breaking that promise."

Bryce smiled at the two of us and moved to sit next to me again.

Bryce and I left about 10 minutes later, wanting to be on the highway before my dad came out of his office.

"Bryce what would you have done if they didn't accept me?"

"What do you think I'd do?" He asked, putting his hand on my thigh.

"I don't know, I kinda thought you might leave me."

"Well Jaden, you couldn't be more wrong. I love you so much and your dad being an asshole isn't going to stop that.

We're a team, you and I against the world, and that means no matter what happens to either of us, we have to stay strong and be here for one another."

"Aww, Bryce. I love you."

"I love you too Jaden."
