The same night during dinner in the Great Hall, I ate my food thoughtfully, glancing towards Tom Riddle occasionally. I saw him with his "possi" of Slytherin boys that practically worshiped him. Avery was just one of the familiar faces that rarely seemed to leave his side.

After our conversation earlier I grew an interest towards his way of thinking. It was chilling, almost evil. This intrigued me, I wanted to learn more about this mysterious and handsome boy.

"Hey Christine, are you in there somewhere?", Selene said waving her hand in front of my face. "You've barely said a word."

"She's looking at her buddy Tom over there.", Margie said laughing.

"Oh stop it." I said with a smile and whacked a napkin at her. "We aren't even close to "buddies", he's too heinous for me. You should've heard what he talks about."

"Oooo so you really got to know him didn't you?" Olive said with a wink.

"Alright that's enough. How about we discuss Malcom and Selene's exchange.", I said, trying to get the attention away from myself.

As Selene was describing how charming Malcolm was, I noticed Tom writing in a book. It seemed to be a diary, I saw him carrying it around everywhere with him. Tom closed the book and pointed his wand at it, muttering something. He was so beautiful, but I couldn't allow myself to be charmed by him.

He looked up and saw me watching him. I smiled softly at him. I was in control, and instead of giving a mean look, he gave a confused double take and then looked away from me.

I then turned back to my friends and admired each of them, all wonderful girls. Tom's mindset might be intriguing, but it's very lonely. I loved my friends, and I knew they loved me. It made me feel bad for him, how could he live with no affection, no intimacy.

I felt a strong urge pulling me to look out for him.
