"Merry Christmas Dana."
My heart nearly jumped out of my chest when I saw Justin standing at my front door with a small box in his hand and a dozen of roses. He was smiling and he looked more adorable than ever in his black coat and gray beanie. Without a second thought I jump into his arms and hold him tightly.
"I missed you." I whisper into his chest.
Justin places his hand on the small of my back and pulls me close with his free hand. "I missed you too babe."
I breathe in the amazing scent of his cologne and smile. I could stand here and hug him all day and never get tired.
After a few seconds Justin pulls back and hands me the box and the roses. "These are for you."
"Okay but let's go inside first. It's cold out here." I take the items and rush inside with Justin follwing close behind.
"Oh, Justin!" Nonna gasps. "It's good to finally see you again." She walks out of the kitchen holding a plate full of sugar and chocolate chip cookies.
"It's good seeing you again too Nonna." Justin smiles.
Before she start up a conversation I interupt, "We'll be upstairs if you need us." Grabbing Justin's hand I pull him upstairs and into my room. When we're both sitting on my bed I place the roses and box beside me and grab Justin's hands. "Justin, look. I know things--"
"Dana not right now." He interupts. "Just open your gift and we can talk later. I have something special planned and I want to discuss everything tonight. Let's just relax for now."
The look he held in his eyes let me know that he was serious. So I pick up the box and open, pulling out a silver necklace with the letter D on it. As I'm staring at it I see Justin frown from the corner of my eye.
"I-I'm sorry." He chuckles. "I'm not very good with gifts. If you don't like it I can like, take it back."
"Are you kidding me?" I laugh. "It's beautiful Justin. No one has ever given me anything close to this. Here, put it on me." I place the necklace in his hand and hold my hair in my hand as I turn around. Chills run through my body when his cold fingers touch my neck while he fastened the clasps. This has to be the first time in my life where I felt like someone actually cared about me. Where someone was willing to love me despite my attitude toward situations. I turn around and hug Justin while whispering in his ear, "Don't leave me again."
"I won't."
"I'm serious Justin. You've changed me and it just wouldn't be right if you had to leave again."
I feel him hesitate. "I know baby, I know."
"Good."
"Can we spend this afternoon here? Together?" Justin pulls back and looks into my eyes. "Because I really have a lot to get off of my chest. I want to make it as special as possible."
I knit my eyebrows together. The look he held in his eyes told me that something was bothering him. I just didn't know what. "What is it? Is it something bad because if it is I don't want to know. We can't--"
"No it's-- it's not bad. I just don't know how you would feel after I tell you. Let's just be together all day and I will tell you tonight."
I sigh. "Okay, fine. I just wished you didn't say all of this because now I'm going to be thinking about it all day."
Justin leans forward and places his warm lips against mine. "Don't worry yourself. Let's just enjoy this Christmas together."
