Take a Bullet For You (11)

I'm up early today, as usual, but I'm on the phone as soon as it hits eight o'clock. I came up with a brilliant plan lying in bed last night, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can pull it off.

"Amazing! Thank you so much!" I spot Zayn walking into the kitchen so I wrap the conversation up quickly. "We'll see you later, bye!"

"Who was that?" He asks, grabbing a mug from the cupboard.

"Nobody." I say with a smile, well aware that I'm acting suspicious.

"What are you planning?" He says seeing my smile, and I tap my nose indicating that it's a secret.

I wait until the rest of the boys make it downstairs, ignoring Zayn's questioning looks. I give Harry a smile as he walks in, and am super pleased when he returns it.

"Morning all!" I practically sing, feeling rather chipper and particularly pleased with myself. They all look at me, surprised.

"What's got you in such a good mood this morning?" Liam asks the question they're all thinking.

"I have a surprise for you all." I say, enjoying the mixed reactions. "We're going on a little adventure this afternoon, one that I think you'll all enjoy."

They all glance at each other warily, and I scoff slightly at their reactions.

"An adventure?" Louis asks, "Where are we going?"

"Uh uh! That would be telling."

"Should we be worried?" Zayn asks.

"No! It's a good surprise! It's all organised, it's very safe, I've been on the phone with the people involved this morning. We'll all pile into my car just after twelve, and we'll be on our way."

They still don't look very reassured.

"I promise you guys, it's gonna be fine. No one will see you, they've agreed to only open the place to you guys, so no one will know you're there, and it'll be really fun."

There's a moment of silence and I can see them all thinking about it. I'm aware I haven't given them much to go on, and they're used to being told everything they're doing in detail.

All of them look at each other, waiting for someone to make a group decision. It's quite sweet to be honest.

"Alright, I'm in." Louis says with a cheeky grin on his face, and I move to give him a high five. The rest of them agree after that, and I'm practically buzzing with excitement the entire morning.

About ten past twelve, just as I had planned, we all exit the house and bundle into my car. It's a bit of a squeeze, but they're used to getting up close and personal. I figured it was probably better that no one sat in the front seat with me, but with the two extra seats in the boot, we were on our way with only the slightest of grumbling from Louis.

"Why do I have to sit in the boot?" I hear him ask.

"Because you're the smallest, love." I call back, laughing at the angry face he shoots me in the rear-view mirror.

"Actually, you're the smallest." He says back, pretending to sulk.

"Yes but I'm also the driver, so button it." I hear Niall laughing from where he's sat next to Louis, and then a thwack sound and a small ow from Niall. I roll my eyes.

The drive's about half an hour. I'd been double checking the route all morning so I definitely knew where I was going. I didn't want to get lost and ruin the surprise by having to ask one of the boys to pull up a map.

The radio's on, and I can hear someone lightly humming along to whatever song's playing, and a soft conversation from the back seats. They're a lot calmer than I think I expected them to be, but then again, they do a hell of a lot of travelling, they must get pretty bored of it pretty quickly.
