"Natalie Moon's in the house!" Mitch shouts as we walk into the studio. I feel my face flush as the room erupts in laughter, Harry squeezing my hand encouragingly.

He told me the other day that he wanted me to come into the studio with him, like he had mentioned when I first came to LA. I still don't know why he wants me here, but he mentioned something about some new songs, and I got all jittery with excitement.

I scan the room and try and remember all the names of the people here. I spot Mitch and Sarah straight away, sitting next to each other on a low sofa. Adam is here too, but Charlotte and Naomi are missing. There's two other guys fiddling around on laptops who I think are Alex and Tyler, but I'm not confident.

"Hi everyone." I say, giving a small wave. Harry gestures for me to go and sit down, going and chatting with the guys at the desk.

"What are you doing here?" Sarah asks, giving me a hug.

"I've got no clue." I say honestly. "He mentioned something about new songs and wanting me to hear them."

"He's written a couple of songs in the past few weeks." Mitch says. "He doesn't think they're going to go on an album, but he might use them for tour."

I nod my head in understanding, glancing around at the studio. I've never been inside a real studio before, and it's not what I expected. The movies make them look so glamorous, like Abbey road and stuff. This one's pretty small. The area we're sat in has a few couches and a desk, and is split off from what basically looks like a glorified booth with a glass wall. Behind the glass I can see a mic on a stand, a keyboard and a couple of guitars.

"Alright." Harry says, turning to face us. Mitch seems to take that as some sort of cue to stand.

"Alright what?" I ask, feeling out of my depth.

"We're gonna play you a song," he says, smiling at me, "and you're gonna tell me what you think."

"I still don't know why you want me to do that." I say honestly.

"Because I love you and I value your opinion. Duh." He gives me a lopsided smile that makes my heart flutter, and goes behind the glass wall, Adam and Mitch following him.

"Are you not going as well?" I ask Sarah beside me.

"Nah, I don't even know what they're about to play. They usually just work with guitars and stuff at first."

Harry has his guitar round his neck as he stands behind the mic stand. The light in the room is all orange-y, and he looks amazing in his plain black t-shirt. He smiles at me through the glass and I feel practically giddy.

He starts strumming, Mitch and Adam joining him. The music is upbeat and really fun, and I already feel like getting up and dancing.

"Don't know where you're laying, just know it's not with me
Don't know what I'd tell you if I passed you on the street"

He keeps glancing at me through the window, and I can't help the cheesy grin on my face. It's my first time seeing him 'perform' on his own. Even with half a band and no production he commands the room, his stage presence just effortless.

"I don't want your sympathy

But you don't know what you do to me

Oh, na na

Every time I see your face

There's only so much I can take
Oh, na na"
