Girlfriend

"Andrew, it's about time you come home. Your dad and I discussed about sending Search and Rescue team to find you. Come on in." The lady moved aside and Andrew signaled me to go inside.

"Hi, mom." Andrew gave the woman a hug. "This is Cassey," he introduced me.

"Hi, Mrs. Stevens. Nice to meet you," I said while offering my hand to shake hers. She took my hand and smiled to me.

"It's nice to meet you too, dear. Come and have a seat."

We then headed to the living room and Andrew took a seat next to me.

"Mom, I need your help. Can Cassey crush here for time being?" Andrew started. He then continued with telling his mom the entire thing, started with the Thatchers and the disappearance up till why I needed to crush. At the end of Andrew's explanation, she smiled and told him that I could stay and that we didn't have to worry about anything.

"There's an empty bedroom that used to be Andrew's sister's. Since it's empty now, you can use it, Cassey, " she told me.

I thanked her for her kindness to let me stay to which she said it was no problem. Andrew then told me to get myself comfortable and that he would come later at night since he had to leave now and handled the press. His mom and I sent him off before going back to the living room. Andrew's mom decided to start preparing dinner and I offered to help her.

"My husband is coming home soon, so I will cook some dinner for him. Do you wanna have dinner with us? " She asked me while getting the pan from the cupboard.

"Sure, Mrs.Stevens."

"Call me Lilly. And cut out the formalities. Andrew's friends are always welcomed here. So just think of this apartment as yours and get yourself comfortable."

Lilly was a very friendly woman. The whole time we were preparing for dinner, we chatted about a lot of things. She was very proud of her children that she kept boasting about them. She also talked about Adriana, her daughter who had been married and lived with her husband abroad. I was in the middle of arranging the dining table when the door bell chimed and Lilly excused herself to open the door.

"Smells delicious," I heard a man's voice later on.

"Honey, this Cassey. Andrew took her here and she'll stay with us for sometime." Lilly told the man.

"Hi, Cassey, nice to meet you. I'm Liam, Andrew's dad. He has already spoken to me about the press gathering outside your residence, trying to get a scoop on the story . You can stay here as long as you want. Get yourself comfortable." He raised his hand to shake mine.

" Thank you so much for letting me stay, Mr. Stevens. I really appreciate it. "

Lilly then asked us to take our own seat so we could start to have dinner. We spoke about a lot of things while enjoying dinner. I told them about the restaurant we had and about my job. They also inquired me about how I met Andrew. Andrew was their favorite child, it was obvious from the way they beamed when talking about him.

After we were done with dinner and tidied up the dining table, Lilly took me to the room I was going to occupy. The room was painted pink with floral wallpaper and it had its own bathroom.

"There are some clothes in the closet, Adriana is about the same size as you so I think her clothes will suit you. You can wear anything you like." Lilly said while opening the closet and showing me the contain of it.

"You're so very nice to me
Thank you so much, " I said sincerely.

"It's alright. I'll leave you so you can get ready for the bed. Goodnight, sweetie."
