Chapter 8

Amity's POV:

I walked out of Luz's room, heading down the stairs and out the door. "Hoot hoot, Hi Amity how are you today hoot hoot" I'm gonna kill Hooty one day I swear to god. I continued walking and just ignored him, I didn't want to walk home so I decided to go to the library. On my walk to the library I started feeling like I was being watched but I thought I was just being paranoid, I finally arrived at the library and just went straight to my spot. It was private, somewhere I could just relax. I sat down in my bean bag chair.

Oh y'know this morning was great, cuddled with my crush, got friend zoned by my crush, just amazing. I decided to grab a book and read, I read book after book. It started getting dark out so I decided maybe it's time to head home, I was about to walk out of the library when my scroll went off. I summoned my scroll to see it was a message from Edric, "whatever you do, do not come home" oh great now where can I stay? I went through my text messages, Boscha? Nah she's probably with Willow. Everyone on there didn't seem like a good idea. Then my mind went to Luz.

I just came from there but do I really have a choice? I started walking back to The Owl House, I still felt eyes on me which was starting to creep me out. I was walking through the market since I had to go through it to get to Eda's, and of course I stayed out too late so I was caught in the night market. All of a sudden I was pulled into an ally way, a large guy pinned me to the wall. "We caught a hot one" he smirked and turned to the other guy, "do I get to have some fun this time?" I tried to escape but he had a tight grip, they were talking to each other but I was to focused on escaping than listening to these dumbasses.

I spotted something familiar, an owl? Owlbert! "Psst Owlbert" the guys didn't seem to notice I was talking so I took that as an advantage, "go get me help" Owlbert nodded like he understood and then took off, I hope they arrive soon. I gulped, if I was being honest I was terrified. A few minutes has past and they were still bickering. "Fine" one of them said angrily, the man looked me up and down and then released me. He did a spell but nothing seemed to happen.

I took that as an opportunity to use a spell against him, I formed a circle but when I did nothing happened. Oh no, he got rid of my magic. He just smirked as a flame appeared in his hand, "take your shirt off" he has a hungry look in his eyes, I hesitated but took it off as he said, looking at the fire still in his hand. Then he gestured to my pants, licking his lips. I hope they get here soon, I slowly took off my pants. Then he took my shirt and pants and burned them. As he moved closer to me the more my heart rate sped up, I was scared, no not even scared I was terrified. He was about to touch me when a spell was casted at him making him stumble back.

"Eda!" I was saved, thank you Owlbert I really owe you one. I look next to her to see Luz, while Eda dealt with the men Luz rushed over to me, "Amity are you ok??" Luz launched herself onto me, "Yeah thanks to you guys" I smiled and then Luz looked me up and down causing her face to go a deep red, then I remembered I was half naked. She took off her sweatshirt and gave it to me laughing nervously in the process, she looked at everything besides me until I put the hoodie on. "Thanks" she just stared at me, I waved my hand in front of her face and she snapped out of it.

"Huh what? Oh uhm- sorry" I just giggled and then looked back to see Eda had already taken out the guys. I nodded to Eda and then grabbed Luz's hand, we walked to the owl house together hand in hand. Once we arrived I ran up into her room, the first thing I saw was the hoodie she gave me, I guess I forgot it here. I quickly took off the hoodie I had on and replaced it with that one. Now I need pants, I walked over to Luz's closet and grabbed a pair of pants, throwing them on I looked at Luz, "I hope this is ok" she nodded excitedly.

I just laughed at her stupid antics, she was staring again so I just walked over to her bed and sat down. Patting the bed, signaling for her to come sit, she did just that and took a seat next to me on the bed. I laid my head on her shoulder and just sighed, "thanks again" she just took my hand and rubbed it. "You don't need to apologize, I'm not gonna let anyone hurt you" I laugh a little at that, "thanks Luz but you don't have to" she got up and stood in front of me with her arm sticking up in the air, "yes I do, for I'm your fearless champion" I laugh remembering the time she took on my job as grom queen.

She sits back down and we just sit there in silence, I eventually laid down staring up at the ceiling, would this be a good time to confess to her? Maybe, "hey Luz? I just wanted to say I-" I was cut off by a snore, I look over to see Luz sleeping. Oh ok not today...not today, I closed my eyes thinking about today. If they didn't save me anything could have happened. I'd rather not think of what could have happened, I open my eyes and look at Luz again, scooting a little closer, and closer, and closer until I was right next to her. I wrapped my arms around her and snuggled into her neck, I mumbled "goodnight" even though I knew she wouldn't hear me. I closed my eyes and let sleep take over, for the first time in awhile I fell asleep with a smile on my face.
