Chapter 9

Luz's POV:

Just like yesterday, I woke up in Amity's arms. She looked so cute, I quickly and carefully slipped out of her grip and walked to my closet, I grabbed an outfit and then left to the bathroom to change. I put on a navy blue tank top and black shorts, I grabbed my hoodie and wrapped it around my waist. I heard a thud down stairs and quickly made my way to where the sound came from. "Luz you're awake!!" I looked down at the small demon in front of me, "What happened?" he pulled out a pan and I looked up at the open cupboard, "can you make those tasty circler things?" Tasty circler things? I tried to think of whatever he was talking about.

"Pancakes?" He started jumping up and down happily and shoved the pan at me. I grabbed it and headed over to the kitchen, placing the pan on the stove I went through the cupboards to find the ingredients. I soon found the right ingredients or the closest to the real ones. I made the mix and then lit up the stove, then started to make pancakes. I used up the rest of the mixture and turned the stove off, I put 2 pancakes on a plate and spilled some syrup over it. Walking over to the table I placed it in front of King and handed him a fork.

He dug in, he was eating so quickly you'd think we don't feed him. I went back over to the pancakes and made 2 more plates, I placed one down on the table, "King" he looked up at me as he slowly stuck more of the pancake in his mouth. "Don't eat Eda's pancakes" he groaned but nodded, shoving more food into his mouth. I walked upstairs and slowly opened the door, Amity was still sleeping. I gently placed the plate down on my bedside table and sat down. "Good morning Amity" I ran my fingers through her hair as she opened her eyes, she looked up at me and a small smile grew on her face.

"I made something from the human realm" I picked up the plate and handed it to her, she poked at it with her fork before slowly cutting a piece off, she looked up at me a little confused before putting it in her mouth. Her eyes lit up and she looked down at the plate, she quickly ate it and before I knew it the pancakes were already gone. "Oh wow you ate that so fast" I giggled and and took the empty plate from her, I grabbed her hand and pulled her out of my room and down the stairs, I made my way into the kitchen and placed the plate down. I looked over at the table to see Eda eating and King staring at her pancakes.

"Oh my god, fine" Eda threw King a piece of the pancake and he caught it mid air in his mouth, he jumped off the table and then laid down on the couch, curling his fury body like a dog. I start walking towards the door with Amity's hand still in mine. "Later Eda" Eda nods as I pull Amity out the door. "Sooo where you wanna go?" I look at Amity to see her face bright red, she quickly looks off to the side and clears her throat, "I-I don't know, you choose" that was kinda weird but oh well, "great!! I can take you to my favorite spot!" I let go of her hand and start running, she quickly caught up to me, "hey! Don't do that" she giggled and nudged me, we were down to a speed walk by now.

We started getting closer to the woods and I sprinted to the vines covering the entrance to my spot, I stood in front of it and waited for Amity to catch up. "You really need to stop doing that" her hands were on her knees and she was out of breathe. I laughed and spread apart the vines exposing a cave, it was lit up and had my stuff here and there. I walked in grabbing Amity's hand and pulling her in with me, she looked around in awe. "Wow..this place is so pretty" she looked at me and then her eyes landed on a tunnel. "Where does that go?" A smile grew on my face and I let go of her hand jumping in front of her, placing my hand on her shoulder. "I'll show you later ok?" She slowly nodded, she seemed disappointed but I gotta save the best for last. She wandered over to a book shelf and pulled out a book, "how'd you find this place?" She continued looking over the book before placing it back and facing towards me, "I got mad and ran away, I ended up finding this place and that's basically the whole story" she nodded and continued walking around.

"What's this?" Amity pulled out a something rectangular, I took it in my hands and turned it around, a small smile tugged at my lips. "It's called a picture frame" I carefully set it up on the shelf, it was a picture of me and my mom, I miss her, I convinced her to let me stay here but I haven't gotten anytime to see her in over a year. A felt a tear build up in my eye, I looked at Amity as it fell down my face. "Hey, hey what's wrong??" She gently cupped my face, whipping away my tear, "I just miss my mom" she pulled me into a hug and we stayed like that for a moment. I pulled away and grabbed her hand. "Where are we going?" I looked at her a huge smirk growing on my face. "You wanna see where that tunnel leads to?" She nods and I made my way to the tunnel, it was dark so I pulled out my light spell and tapped on the piece of paper, making a ball of light appear, I walked into the tunnel with her behind me. She's gonna love this, I know she will, walking down the tunnel I came to a stop before turning around and taking both of Amity's hands. "You ready?" Her cheeks go a light pink, is it hot in here or something? Eh whatever. "Yeah"
