The next two months flew by. Besides my main friendship with Jaya and the other boys, I've made a bunch of new friends. I also have a new best friend. Aaliyah, a brown skinned girl with loose curly hair. Her and I are in the same classes after lunch, when I'm not with Jaya and the boys. I'm currently sitting in 4th period math, taking notes with Jaya.
"Okay so I kinda need girl advice." These words hurt me slightly because I have developed a small crush on the boy I claim as my best friend.
"What do you need?" I mumbled.
"Okay, so let's say I were to ask a go out right,"
"Mhm?" I responded, as I urged him to continue.
"Do you think she would like this scenario? Okay so imagine picking her up at 6:30 p.m. In the back of my car I have some blankets, and we'll have a picnic. The picnic basket filled with good food-"
"What kind of food? Presentation is important, and it needs to match the mood of the date." I interrupted.
"Well if you had let me finish, I was going to say some sodas, and probably Boston Market or something similar."
"Honestly that sounds delicious." At this point I was starting to get jealous. These were some of my favorite things to do. I started to wonder who the girl was. He proceeded to explain how they would have a picnic on a peaceful ledge he found in the park, which faced both the city and nature over the water. They would watch the sunset together, listen to music, and just hangout for a while.
"So? What do you think?" He asked curiously.
"I think that sounds perfect. That bitch lucky as hell. Who you got your eye on Jaya? " I was eager to know.
"Aii , you finna be mad."
"Just tell me dumbass." I said, tense but curious.
"Well, it's actually you. Ayala, do you want to go on a date with me this Friday?"
I stared at him in shock.
"No." I responded. He stared at me, slightly hurt.
"Let's go on Saturday instead." I said smirking.
"I have volleyball practice on Fridays. You know that." I continued, sarcastically rolling my eyes. He began to smile, and accepted my offer. We finished the last of the notes, while he continued smiling through the rest of he class, making me smile.
Aaliyah and I walked down the hallway, towards class.
"Okay Aaliyah guess what."
"What?"
"Bro guess."
"I'm not about do that. You're mad unpredictable. Just tell me." she responded.
"Jaya asked me out on a date. And he smooth with it."
"Well, did you say yes?
"Of course I did, are you dumb."
"Chile anyways. So when is it?
"This Saturday. You wanna come over and help me get ready?"
"Of course." At this point we were both smiling, planning my outfit. She told me to explain what kind of mood I was going for. We talked about this for the rest of the day.
Today, I walked home with Shawn and Aaliyah, who had massive crushes on each other. It was always really awkward when they started flirting, because they're both, um, how do I say this, very intense about it. Like they aren't smooth at all. I usually end up lauhging at the both of them, but I never tell them why. Anyways, I went into my room and began to do my work, when I got a FaceTime call from Jordan.
"Hey, what's wrong?" I asked him.
I had begun to form a really deep bond with him. We talked about the more important things in the world. I realized a few weeks after we met that he wasn't as weird as I thought he was. He was actually much more mature than the rest of the boys, which he had my respect for. He seemed to be a very good student, but he just kept to himself. When I realized this, we became very close, because it was nice having someone to share your opinions with. He seemed to trust me just as much, which I respected even more. When he called me, it seemed like he had just been crying.
"Um, Camila and I broke up."
"Wait what do you mean? Why?"
"Well, I don't know to be honest. She said that we haven't been the same and it's better to take a break. Are you home?
"Yeah, I am. I am so sorry. Come over."
"Bet, and thanks man."
"No problem." He lived about 20 minutes away walking. Telling by his shaking voice, and red eyes, I think he was going to walk, giving me enough time to get him something from the corner store. I quickly went downstairs, into the corner store and purchased some of his favorite snacks. I got 2 packs of Cheeto Puffs, an Arizona, Hershey's, and 3 packs of 5 Gum. As soon as I put the bag down in my room, I heard a knock downstairs.
"Hey." he said, his voice threatening to break at any moment.
"Come here." I said wrapping him in a hug as he began to break down in front of me. He cried for hours, explaining every little detail about their relationship. He told me about the good and the bad, the dates they went on, what made her so special. He sat there in my arms eating chocolate crying his heart out. They had been dating before I had even come to the school. Their two year anniversary was just around he corner. He continued to cry, and stayed over at my house as I comforted him. I was so angry because I had never seen him so broken. He had no control over himself. He was shaking slightly, with red puffy eyes, quivering lips, and his face was slick with tears. At around midnight, he fell asleep while we were watching his favorite movie, Lilo and Stitch. He said that it reminded him of his grandmother, who he spent time with as a kid. I took this moment to text the rest of the boys.

I was caught off guard by the way that Jaya was acting. This wasn't like him at all. He was the one that introduced me to Jordan in the first place. He was being so rude. I didn't put much mind to it though. About 10 minutes later the 3 boys come in, and we all sat down. The boys and I planned to sleep over at my house that night. It didn't matter because my mother worked 4 days a week overnight as a nurse at the hospital. I would usually be in charge, but my brother is at a friends house sleeping over.
I went on to explain what had happened, and how we should leave her alone. Inside, I was actually planning to ask her why. To confront her. To know why she would ever do that to him. I hated seeing him down, but I wouldn't tell the boys because they would do too much.
