Prom was...fun.
We walked into the building, and everyone turned to look around at us. I was feeling like the baddest bitch alive. Aaliyah and I decided to get butterfly locs yesterday. My edges were layed, and my nails were done. We decided to do acrylics with bright red roses. My shoes were a nude color. Aaliyah's shoes also matched mines. Shawn had his wavy hair parted in the middle, and he wore a rose earring that hung from his ear. Aaliyah was obviously losing it. Jordan had his waves re-done and touched up. He put on golden rings to match his his nose piercing. He had a stud piercing. He looked very classy. Alexandro had six different necklaces on and matching rings. I had never seen him so put together. His hair was the same, but his curls were much more defined. Bryan also got his shit together. His earrings, a red rose, matched the red rose in his front blazer pocket. Then, I noticed that all the boys had a red rose in their front pocket. Jaya, on the other hand, had a white one to contrast his outfit. He looked so fine. Fine as hell. His hazel eyes popped against the firey red he wore. His earrings were changed to something silver to contrast the red. He also had rings on. I noticed a ring on him that I had never seen before.
Aaliyah and I decided to get drinks. When we got back, all the boys stood in front of Aaliyah. She looked up to see Shawn, who stood in front of the rest, handing her his red rose. Then, Jaya walked forward to give me the white rose. We turned to look back at Shawn. He looked down into Aaliyah's coacoa brown eyes, ones that contrasted his blue eyes. He asked Aaliyah if she would be his girlfriend. She obviously said yes. They gave each other a massive hug and we all cheered for them.
All of us danced for the rest of the night. As I was dancing with Aaliyah, I noticed Jordan standing on the wall alone. He seemed down, so I walked over to him.
"What's wrong? Are you having fun?" I asked.
"Yeah, I'm good. Just a little lonely." He responded, with a small grin.
"Come one, let's go dance." I said, as I grabbed his arm and pulled him onto the dance floor. I had lost Jaya anyways, so it wasn't like I had anyone to dance with. He was surprisingly good. We danced for 40 minutes straight, laughing and joking around. He seemed so much happier. We kept dancing. At 12:00 am, we decided to go to iHop. At this point, I had no clue where Jaya was.
We ate confetti pancakes, laughing, and joking around. We always made the best memories. He then stared at me for a moment, going silent.
"What?" I asked.
"Thanks for this. You're always there. I took you here to make it up to you." He proceeded to pay and get the check, laughing and making jokes. We left soon after. I walked slightly infront of him. I began to cross the street, thanking him. As I was crossing, a car came speeding. I stood directly in front of it. Then, I was tackled to the side. I realized that I had been paralyze with fear. I started crying, sitting on side of the road. I looked up to see Jordan panicking. His breathing was heavy. I sat there, hugging him for 20 minutes. Then, I looked up, and got the courage to thank him. He just hugged me tighter, giving me a kiss on the forehead, and walked me home.
When we were in front of my house, I gave him a hug, thanking him again. He smiled at me, and just nodded, smiling.
"I told you to not leave me alone. Dying is kind of part of the deal."
"Good point." I said, giggling.
We stayed silent for a few moments, and then he said something that I won't ever forget.
"You know, I'm always going to be there to protect you. You are my best friend. You are always there. So I'm going to protect you. If you ever need me, then I'm here. Seriously."
I just nodded, taken by surprise at his words. I gave him another hug, and walked towards the door. When I got to the door, I turned back. He was still there, so I smiled at him. I mouthed "love you", and walked in.
