"Hey babe" said Jaya as he wraped me in a hug at my door.

"Hey baby." I said back.

We walked out of the door, hand in hand, ready for the date we had planned. The sun was out and shinning. Today I decided to wear a red, short-sleeve body suit with loose jeans and my Jordan 1's. If I'm being honest, I was proud of my outfit. He walked me to his car, and I got in on the passengers side. We first went to eat breakfast at a diner in the nicer part of town. At around 12:00 pm, we decided to head to the mall. He bought me a new pair of vans, and I bought him a nice gold chain. We walked around for a little longer, going to Target, Walmart, and even the supermarket. He pushed me around in one of the shopping carts in the parking lot. We then decided to go eat at a fancy seafood place. He wouldn't let me pay of course. As we waited, our conversation drifted into yesterday's big game.

"So, how did it go with the recruits?" I asked.

"Are you kidding? It went amazing. There was one that caught my eye. She's the assistant coach for UCLA."

"Deadass?"

"Yeah, she gave me her card and booked an interview for the summer."

"Baby I'm so happy for you."

"Thank you. Honestly. None of this shit would be happening without you." He said. He smiled at me, and I smiled back. The food came, so we ate. He ordered fried calamari with white rice, and I ordered a shrimp pasta. After this, it was around 6:00 pm. We decided to go to the corner store to to get some snacks, and we headed for the cliff that we went to on our first date.

I was opening a pack of Sour Patches when Jaya caught my attention. Today I was planning to tell him that I loved him. He was looking out into the water. I lightly tapped his arm, and he looked over to me. The sun was beginning to set, so I took my chance. I knew it was now or never.

"Hey Jasaiah, I've been meaning to tell you this, so I understand if you don't feel the same way. We have been together for a few months now, and I've never been so happy. You are the most charming, loving, and unbelievable person I've ever met. Since the day we met, and you looked into my eyes, I knew I wanted you in my life. And you have proven that. I feel like you complete me. I can't imagine what this year would have been like if you hadn't been so kind to me the first day. You have shown me kindness and acceptance, something that I've been scared of because I've never had anything stable. I could spend hours talking to you about anything. The stars, our emotions, my family, your career in football. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I love you. I am in love with you."

He stared at me for a moment, trying to register the words I had just told him.

"Aya. I have loved since the day we met. I could spend hours looking into your green eyes, holding you in my arms. The thought of your soft, brown skin against mine just brings an immediate smile to my face. So, yes, if it hasn't been clear, I love you too." He responded.

He stared at me for a few moments before leaning in to kiss me. We stayed there, watching the sunset, his lips pressed against my forehead. It started to get late, so we decided to leave. Before we left, he grabbed my arm as I walked towards his car.

"Aya?"

"Yes?"

"Thank you for being here." And with that, we ended the night.
