I didn't feel like talking. I just changed out of my dress. It was so beautiful. I put it in the back of my closet. I changed into pajamas. I brushed my teeth and sat down on my bed, beginning to cry. I don't know why Jordan's words meant so much. Actually, I did. I have never had someone to protect me like he said he would. And I knew he wasn't lying. Especially after tonight. These weren't sad tears, they were tears of relief.

I was beginning to fall asleep when I got a knock at my window. It was Jaya. I brougt him quietly through the front door. We sat in silence for a couple of minutes. Then, he began to cry.

"My mom is pissed. She's pissed because I'm failing again. She called me. My brothers are disappointed in me. It hurts when a 4 year old looks at you and just walks away. I raised that kid." He said, rushing his words.

"What can I do to help?" I said quietly.

"I don't know." It was already the end of the year. There were only two weeks left.

"Give me your work everyday after school, okay?" Since I finished all my classes, I only go back for graduation practice, and to tutor. I've been taking it easy.

"I can't do that to you."

"Yes you can." he quietly nodded and agreed. He cried in my arms. I sat there silently, the thought of almost dying in the back of my mind. He then got up, and left.
