"Are you and y/n alright?" you heard Tobi whisper to Mason as they stood in the kitchen at the office's. You'd just come from the bathroom and was about to head back to your editing but paused as your name was mentioned,

"Yeah, we're fine" Mason quickly responded, his voice wavering in lie.

Fine, was not how you'd describe it. A few days ago you and Mason had the biggest fight you have ever had as a couple. Words were said that weren't meant, things had been thrown about in your apartment that both of you refused to clear up. Every one of the misfits knew something was up as soon as they saw one of you. It wasn't just the deathly silence in the building, or the fact you two hadn't been even 3 feet near each other, or even that you had both driven separate cars and arrived at different times. No one questioned it, not to get in the middle of it, but it made everyone awkward.

The whole argument started with a small disagreement about a character in a film. That then lead to bringing back old disagreements that should've been forgotten. That going to things that annoyed you about each other. To then just a screaming match about anything you could think about. It may have been pent up aggression or stress that you both needed to be taken out, but both of you regretted things you said. The main issue was that you knew you were right in the first place. And the thing was, so did Mason. The nights he lay on the sofa rather than your bed, tossing and turning, he thought about what he said and the fact that he was wrong in the original disagreement. But, 5 days later, it was too late for him to admit that.

It was now Friday, meaning the weekend was around the corner. Meaning 48 hours of deadly silence in your apartment and a fog of irritation lingering in the air. You couldn't deny the desire in you to end the silence, you missed his arms appearing around you and pulling you as tight as he could, his morning and goodnight kisses that he'd always hope to lead further, even the way he looked at you like you were the only thing that mattered. But the things he admitted and the words he spoke to you played on repeat in your mind. Some you never expected, some you did.

The day was drawing to an end, people in the office slowly leaving, wishing everyone a good weekend or stating they'd see each other on their stream the next day. Cameron and Eric looked between each other in silent concern before looking at you from the door of the communal area as you stat on the sofa, laptop on your lap. Both of them hoping that things would be back to normal by Monday. you wanted to leave before Mason did, so you could get a few minutes to think. But you saw as he must have finished up his work and walked behind you to leave. He turned and looked over at you still typing away at your computer, usually he'd go over, wrap his arms around your shoulder and kiss at your face until you laughed, trying to pull you away from the screen to go home. Instead, he sighed and left.

You stayed for about 20 minutes longer, you craved takeaway food but couldn't be bothered to wait for it. As you got home you saw Mason's car was not in the drive way as you expected. You walked in as normal, getting changed into comfier clothing and turned the TV on in your room. Soon your stomach started to make noises. You sighed before heading towards your kitchen.

As you left your room you smelled good food, take away food. The smell brought you to the living room where the lights were off but candle light lit up the room. Take out trays were sat on plates on the coffee table and your favourite film was paused on the TV.

"Hey" Mason said, catching your attention. Your eyes greeted his as he sat on one of the lounge chairs, fingers toying with each other in his lap before he stood, taking a few casual steps closer.

Though your stomach longed for the food, you couldn't give in. Mason offended you, said things that broke you. You couldn't forgive him that easily. You turned and headed towards the kitchen again.

"y/n, babe, please.. I wanted to say i'm sorry" Mason pleaded, following you to the next room. You waited to speak though,

"You were right, about the film" he continued, making you look back at him confused and angry. Was that all he was going to apologise for? You rolled your eyes, scoffed, and shoved past him.

"Y/n?" he called, once again following you through the house, "I said i'm sorry, what more?"

You still said nothing, but gave him a look as to say 'are you serious' before you walked towards your room. You slammed the door in his face, making him get slightly angry, but more sad that you still weren't talking to him.

"Please, just talk to me. Say something!" he pleaded from behind the door, you sat on the edge of the bed waiting for him to go away. You heard him groan before he opened the door. "What is wrong? why am I the only one being a grown up here!?"

He could tell from your sudden facial expression change that he shouldn't have said that. "Okay, again, sorry. Just please, say something!"

"Did you mean everything you said?"

He paused, taken aback by you actually saying something, before his tense brow fell and his face turned concerned once he realised what you'd said, and meant. He took a step closer to you,

"No, of course I didn't. I'm sorry, doll" another step closer, running a hand through his hair, "I love you, I didn't mean anything. I was just stressed and.. fuck, well I guess I took it out on you" he admitted. "Did you mean anything?" by this point he was close to you, towering over you.

"no.. I was stressed too I guess." You whispered, playing with your hands in your lap. He knelt down and grabbed your hands in his. The sudden touch after being apart for so long made goosebumps run over your skin. You looked up and smiled, Mason soon joining in.

"God did I miss that smile"

You giggled, shaking your head, before moving your hands and placing them on the sides of his face, gently pulling him in and kissing him.

"So, that food's getting cold" He mumbled against your lips, moving his own hands to the sides of your thighs, his comment genuine but you knew he didn't care that much.

"It can wait" You grinned into the kiss, pull him backwards as you lay down, his deep laugh filling your ears as he excitedly started to kiss down your face to your neck.
