You kept yourself a secret, they didn't even know your real name. They had no physical knowledge of you, how you looked, how tall you were, your hair colour, where you lived. Nothing. And that's how you liked it.

You'd been vulnerable too many times in your life and every time its seemed to bite you in the butt and been used against you. Sure, you had friends and family who loved you and knew you in person, but you were never your real self around them, just in case it would all happen again.

However, to your online friends, your group called Lunch Club, you were yourself. Your personality shone through and you used your sense of humour and your intelligence in your videos and your followers loved you. You were very popular, a couple hundred thousand subscribers on YouTube and Twitch and lots of your videos hitting millions of views randomly and trending.

Today was like many other days, ending a stream and just chatting to your viewers as you wrapped everything up. You got a donation, asking the same question many people had this stream,

[$30 – are we ever going to get a face reveal??]

Most the other times this was asked it was just in chat or a much smaller donation, but you'd feel bad if you didn't reply since it was a decent bit of money.

"Guys I've said this before, I like to keep myself online and offline separate, its just what is good for me. It's nothing personal to any of you or my friends" you shrugged. Answering a few more random chat questions before signing off and joining the discord call with your friends that always happened after you've streamed together.

"So when are we going to get to see your face y/c/n?" Cooper asked as he saw you join,

"or at least know your name" Travis almost whined, making you chuckle slightly.

"God guys aren't you sick of asking yet. It's not happening" you said simply,

"Bet it's cause you think you're ugly, people won't care y/c/n" Schlatt commented,

"Nah I bet its because she's super hot and knows people will only watch her for her face" Cooper stated with a laugh, making you know he wasn't serious about his comment. But you still teased,

"Jeez thanks Coop, don't know if I should take the compliment or be offended with your accusation people wont like me for me"

"Take the compliment" he replied.

"Why don't you do it for your half a million subscriber video? You're not that far off" Noah suggested. He was right, you were almost at 430,000 and gaining a lot of subs every day, but the idea of that made you nervous.

"I don't know, I like people not knowing me. What if their opinions change.." you said, words trailing off as you finished.

"People already love you for what you create - and they know nothing about you, we know nothing about you and yet your part of our friendship group. If anything it'll make people like you more" Noah replied softly.

Soon you were all saying your goodbyes, reminding each other about the plans for the next stream or video. Your mind racing with thoughts about what you should do.

It was only 3 weeks after that stream, you were sat in bed on your laptop when your phone started going crazy with notifications. Tweets, youtube comments, messages on twitch. You went to twitter first and read through them quickly, heart dropping at the words.
