Chapter 12: I have an uncle?

~That night~

Lily was walking with Daisy, Asppen, and Pluto when Daisy walked backwards next to her and asked, "What did you do to Rose?" "Nothing! It doesn't make any sense why she would do this. Unless it was just another deal Bark made with her." Lily said looking down as she walked. "It's getting dark. Maybe-" Daisy started then Pltuo interuptted, "And I'm starving!" Lily looked back at him sadly and said, "Sorry, Pluto, we don't have any food," Daisy smelled around and said with a small smirk, "You know, I actually know a place. Come on!"

At a restaurant...

Daisy walked inside a cozy village-type restaurant leading the other three dogs inside, too. "Welcome to "The Loft". Open 24/7." Daisy smiled. Aspen looked around. "C'mon, I want you to meet someone," Daisy said walking further into the restaurant. Pluto, Aspen, and Lily followed behind slowly and cautiously.

"Lily, meet Berny. Your uncle." Daisy told Lily. Lily looked over and saw an Australian shepherd dog. "Lily? You've gotten so big!" "Hi... Uncle Berny..? Right?" Lily said confused. "You don't remember me. I saw you briefly when you were a pup. Things have changed a lot since then. But why didn't you bring Petunia, Daisy?" Berny asked, looking at her. "Oh, my sister is out in Los Angeles fulfilling her dream as a rapper and rap producer," Lily smiled. "Alright. Well it was good to see you, Lily." Berny smiled at her and Daisy. "Yeah... you, too... Uncle Berny, heh," "And who's she?" Lily asked, looking at a Golden Retriever. "This is Jenny. You're aunt." Berny told her with a smile and Daisy smiled at Lily. "Come on, let's get something in your stomachs," Daisy said walking away.

~At the counter~

The TV came on showing Rose getting interviewed. "Lily, how's it feel to be the most beloved Pup Star champion ever?" A woman asked, moving the microphone up to Rose's mouth. "The pampering, the love, the respect. It's amazing. I appreciate all the support from everyone." Rose smiled. Lily growled and Pluto wondered, "What did you do to her to make her impersonate you?" "I don't even know her! It's just another one of Bark's bright schemes." Lily said glaring at the TV. "And, Lily, are you feeling a little antsy about the Pup Star finals?" The woman asked, moving the microphone up to Rose's mouth again. "Honestly, with all that's going on in the world, the feeling of the finals is a little nerve-wracking. But with the support from all my fans, I know I can win." Rose smiled again. "Oh screw! Doesn't anyone notice how stuck-up that sounded!?!" Lily yelled. Pluto looked at Lily confused. "When I get my paws on her-!" Lily started then Aspen cut her off by saying, "OK! We get it- you're really mad. But there's nothing you can do about it until we get back to New York." "Right. Mom, how much time do we have until the finale?" Lily asked with a smile, looking over at Daisy. "15 days. Tomorrow will be 14." Daisy answered. "And the Pup Star finals is IN 15 days. So you'll get there right on time." Pluto said with a smile. "Let's hope so..." Lily said looking at the counter. Once the food came, they all started eating.

~That night~

The moon rose high and the four dogs were exhausted. Daisy led them to an alley and pulled out a crusty and dusty dog bed. It had a few crushed leaves on it but other than that, it'd have to get one of them through the night. "OK, who's taking the neglected dog bed?" Lily asked lifting her head then Daisy, her, and Pluto looked at Aspen. ".....Well don't expect me to sit on that! Look at it!" Aspen managed to complain. Lily rolled her eyes and jumped above the dog bed onto a brown box and laid down on it. Pluto laid on the wet rained-on ground and fell asleep fast. Daisy laid on the side of the dog bed and Aspen on the other side. We were all fast asleep, sleeping peacefully and the neglected dog bed just laid there alone surrounded by family/dogs.
