Chapter Fifteen: Rose

Ryder opens the door for me. I smile at him."Why thank you kind sir." he started to chuckle. I turn my head to see someone I thought I would never see again. "Mom!"

My smile quickly faded when I saw my mother standing in front of me. The shock was an understatement.  "Hi sweety," she says trying to hug me but I just jump back. Tears wear making there way to my eyes. How is she alive? She died. 

"How?' is all I could get out. I've blamed myself for her death for years, so did my step-dad, and this whole time she's been alive. I could feel the anger rising inside me. Ryder grabs my hand trying to calm me down by rubbing cycles on my hand. I look up at him and smile at him. I could see the confusion in his eyes. 

"I faked my death," she says. I could feel the hot tears run down my cheeks. I felt Ryder tense up. She tried whipping the tears away but I back away before she can touch me. "Honey, I’m sorry didn't mean to hurt you and your dad." she doesn't know what he does to me and this all could have been avoided if she didn't... I couldn't finish that thought. I look up at Ryder to see him trying to control his anger. I look back at my mother to see her smiling.

"He is no dad to me," I say angrily. My mother looked taken back a little. "and you are no mother to me. She died a long time ago." tears started to stream down my face. How could she do this to me? She left me with an abusive asshole of a step-dad.

"How dare you speak to me that way," she says angrily." and don't you dare speak about your father in that way either."

"He is no father to me and never was, he's my step-dad." I so badly wanted to scream at her and hit her for all the pain she caused me. "He's the only father that you have. Your real one left you because he didn't want you. Nobody wants you!" It was like a stab to the heart. How could she say that? She's just like HIM.

"You need to leave now before I do something I won't regret," Ryder says in a dangerous voice. My mother looked scared. She quickly made her way out of here, but not before she says. "I will kill you. Your father may have failed but I will not.

I collapse to the floor, sobbing. She's right. No one wants me. Why would they? Ryder picks me up and carries me to the bed. He places me down, then crawls in next to me. He pulls me into his chest and started to say sweet words in my ear.

The boys walk in with food when they saw me with red puffy eyes. "what happened?" Nick and Nate ask at the same time. That's creepy. I guess I should tell them everything. They deserve to know what they are getting their selves into. I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes as I began.

"6 years ago, I went to a party with my best friend, Alvina. She begged me for weeks to come," I smile as I remember. " I thought parties were stupid. Don't get me wrong though. I've  been to a couple of party's before that one and I've had fun." They all raised an eyebrow. " I used to be the school’s bad girl. I got expelled a couple of times too." they had shock written all over there faces. " Anyways, I finally said yes to her. She was so excited. I told my parents I was going to her house and she told hers she was coming to mine." I chuckle. I could feel the tears running down my cheeks. The boys looked confused and worried at the same time. "That night I got drunk and Alvina left me, so I called my mom. She was beyond pissed. We were fighting, when a car came out of nowhere and hit us fool on. They said my mom died on in the pack. After that, my step-dad was never the same. First, it was just a few mean words. I just thought he was grieving, so I let him. Then, one night he came home drunk and started to beat me." I was a fool on subbing, Ryder was hugging comforting me. It helped so I kept going on. "He kept telling me it was my fault. After that, I stopped being the bad girl everyone thought I was. I started to shut myself down not trusting me. It was a year later, Alvina saw this, so she pulled me into an empty classroom and demanded me to tell her. I wouldn't so she came closer and pulled my jacket off. She saw all the bruises all over my arms. She asked who did this and I told her. I finally felt a weight being lifted off my chest. It was about a week later and everything seems to be fine. I was on my way home. When I entered my house Alvina was tied to a chair." I tried to control my tiers. When I finally calmed down a little I began. "She was all beaten and bruised. I ran up to her and asked what he did to her but she never answered. That's when I got hit from behind and when I woke up I was tied to a chair across from Alvina. We were in some kind of warehouse. My step-dad yelled at me saying finally your awake and stuff. I made the mistake of standing up to him. He started to slowly cut her. She was screaming so loud. Oh god." I broke down into tears.

"You don't have to finish. It's okay." Ryder says and the boys nodded in agreement. I could see the tears running down there cheeks. 

"No I have to finish, please just let me finish," I say barely above a whisper. They nod their heads saying okay. "You know I can still hear her screams today, even. After he ... he shot her in the head. Her body went limp. Then he walked up to me and stabbed me. He made me bury her."  They all gasped. "After that, we moved here. I promised myself I wouldn't get that close to anyone again. You see how that went." I chuckle. "Ryder here. saved me from him. I just couldn't stay away after that. I thought finally someone cars enough about me." I smile at him. "He refused to let me go home that night, so I waited until he fell asleep. Once he did I snicked out. When I got home my step-dad was out cold, until I accidentally kicked a beer bottle that was on the ground. He woke up immediately and was not pleased. He yelled at me then he grabbed a beer bottle and broke it off and stabbed me. Everything went black after that. When I woke up Ryder was tied up across from me. I'm going to save you the details, let’s just say I got stabbed again." All the boys had tear stand cheeks. The so-called bad boys at our school were crying over my story.

"Before you guys came my supposed to be died mother showed up and said she was going to kill me."
