Chapter Sixteen: Ryder

I can’t believe her mother did that to her. She let her step-dad beat her for 6 years. How could a parent let that happen?

It's been an hour since Rose told her story and I've just been laying next to her, comforting her. She feels asleep and she looks so peaceful. She's so beautiful. I don't get why anyone would want to hurt her. I pulled her close and kissed her head. I slowly started to fall into a deep slumber.

Click. Click.

We what is that noise. I slowly open my eyes to see Rose laying on my chest. I could feel my heart beating faster by the minute.

Click.

I look up from Rose to see the boys with a phone out taking pictures of us. When they notice me staring at them. They smiled sheepishly. I chuckled. That got Rose tossing and turning. I smile and say "Good morning, princess." her eyes flutter open and she brakes into a big grin. "Good morning." 

Today Rose gets to leave the hospital. I'm so happy because she's living with me and the boys. I plan o asking her out before we have to go back to school. I've mainly been skipping it to be with Rose. I didn't want her to be alone after what happened with her mom.

"Hey, princess?" I say nervously. She turns her head to look at me. "Yes?" she says little worried. My heart started raising. "Um...will you..um...go on a...um...date with me?" I say rubbing the back of my neck nervously. I look down waiting for her to say no, but when she didn't say anything. I look up to see her smiling like a mad man. "YES!" she says hugging the life out of me. "Can't....breath." she immediately let’s go smiling sheepishly. Damn, she has a tight grip.

"Now if you two love birds are done let’s leave. I want to go to eat." Jack says. I completely forgot they were here. Nick and Nate slap him on the back of the head. "Hey, what was that for?" he says rubbing the back of his head. Rose giggled at that. I could feel the tug on my mouth wanting to smile.

"Are you ready to go, princess?" I say smiling down at her. She jumps up and says. "HELL YEAH!!!" I chuckle at this. God, she's beautiful. "I'm ready to sleep in a real bed and not this uncomfortable one," she says pouting while pocking the bed. Yeah, I have to agree with her this bed feels like a rock.

I got off the bed and went around to her side. I pick her up and carried her out of the room. "You do know I can walk." She says. "You can! I didn't know that." I say sarcastically. She giggles at that.

I carried her down the hall to the front of the hospital, where a nurse was waiting for us. She looked pretty young to be a nurse. She looked like she was in her early 20's and I think she knows that too because when I got close to her she was pulling down her shirt to expose her chest. Why does every girl do that? I don't want them the only girl I want is Rose and that's the only girl I will ever want to stare at. She didn't seem to notice Rose in my arms because she started to twirl her hair and smile "Hey baby. If you want I get off my shift soon." She started to get closer. I put Rose down so she could walk. The nurse started to trail her hand up and down my chest. The only girl who is going to do that is Rose, not some slut. 

I grab her hands and say "If I wanted some slut I would go to the corner, not the hospital." I dropped her hands and walked over to Rose. I put my arm around her and said. "I have a girlfriend and I would never cheat on her with some slut like you." I look down at Rose to see her trying to muffle a giggle. I couldn't help but smile at how adorable she looks when she giggles. She looks up at me a little confused. "I’m not your girlfriend." she tilts her head to the side and stares up at me. I could feel the heat rising to my cheeks. I started to rub the back of my neck. "Um... will you...um.. be my um girlfriend?" I close my eyes waiting to be rejected. 

"You know you can open your eyes, right?" she says. I slowly open my eyes to see her smiling like a mad man again. "Of course. I would love to be your girlfriend." I couldn't help my excitement I pulled her close to my chest and started to spin her around. she was giggling the whole time. Nothing could take this smile off my face. So I thought…
