"So what do you want to do to pass the time?" She asked in curiosity. She noticed all of them were scratching their heads in thought, trying to think up of something. "I don't know. Play games or... something? Anything that will take my mind off the Purge." Rafi spoke up.
After a while, Rafi and Rowan walked into their rooms, their minds in distress from the night. Looking at her body, she noticed fat dangling from her arms. Sighing, she said, "I should probably exercise now." Having nothing better to do, she went to her room, starting to prepare her fitness outfit.
Rowan POV
I threw myself on the bed, ready to take a sleep. Remembering I always sleep cuddling something, I took out my arm and reached for the pillow. Realizing it was too far, I just gave up in laziness. I rolled around my bed, desperate to get sleep. I closed my eyes, trying not to think of a topic. The thought of someone's life getting taken by someone's hands only scared him.
"Ugh, now is not a good time to think about that." I turned around on my bed, opening my eyes. "Maybe I should just talk to my friend." I grabbed my phone and tapped on the Messenger app. I waited for my phone's connection to appear, which quickly came in. I tapped my friend's name, Dan Hoven, and started to type. Dan was like... the older brother I didn't have, because I'm an only child.
"Bro, how are you doing?"
I waited for a reply, hoping he would be quick. Thankfully, I saw him replying.
"I'm good, dude. You?"
"Same as you."
"What do you want to talk about?"
"Nothing really. Just wanted to talk to you because I. AM. BORED."
"Hmm... do you still have a crush on her?"
"Who? Wendy?"
"Yeah."
"I don't know tbh."
"You're not falling in love with this girl, are you?"
Shocked at the thought, I typed in denial.
"What? No!"
"Good. Don't. She's only gonna break your heart and you're way too young for that."
If I can recall, I think he had a history with his girlfriend.
"Ok."
*DING DONG*
I quickly stood up from my bed, wondering who would be in our porch right now.
"Hold on, brb."
Rafi's POV
*DING DONG*
I quickly tapped the pause button, nervousness starting to overcome my body.
*DING DONG*
I stood up and got out of my room, walking cautiously in the hallway. "Dad, who's that?" Rowan asked, head popping out of his room. Looking at his expression, I can tell he was also nervous. "Go back to your room. I'll deal with this." Not wanting to make him more nervous, I gestured for him to return to his room. Reluctantly, he did.
I gulped in fear, slowly walking. I noticed Emilia also checking out what's going on, fear visible on her face. "Psst. Emilia!" I called out her name, hoping I got her attention. She looked at me with fearful eyes, "What's going on?" she asked, her legs slightly fidgeting in fear.
"Don't worry. I'll check it." I quickly ran down the stairs, trying not to trip with each step. Once I saw the door, I tried to make my steps quiet as possible. I looked at the peephole, and there she was. My eyes widened, not expecting her to come. It was Melanie, but... her face... why was it bruised up?
"Hello. I just forgot something in the basement. Can I go in? She asked, looking slightly troubled.
