8 - Savior

"Let me introduce ourselves. We are just your average Purgers running down the streets... that is until you have some business with us." The man's eyes had a deadly glint, putting Rafi in a trance.

"Several of your dear neighbors informed us that you, the Wandertons, hired someone to be a nanny, and I believe the person you hired goes by the name 'Melanie.' By now, you should be aware that she brought something, or someone, inside your elegant home. If you are, then that's only the surface of our colorful history with those two. You see, those two used to be disciples like us, but things took a turn."

Rafi looked at Emilia in confusion, wondering what Melanie did before they met her. "You see, Melanie and her husband, or should I say "traitors", left our group. And that's not the way a fellow savior would do, for a disciple should be loyal to their prophet, no matter what happens. And for that, it's punishable by death."

"Not only that, they are just dirty, homeless pigs that just found sanctuary, and that sanctuary happens to be your house, Wandertons. If you do know, the Purge is not all about taking out your hatred and violence that you bottled up inside you, it's also about eliminating the poor. All the more reason we should kill them, right?"

"You need to return them to us... alive. So we can "save" them." Emilia shuddered at the thought, knowing what he really meant at those words.

"Here's the plan, Wandertons. We have provisions which will help us break your doors and windows. If you don't deliver them back to us by the next hour, we will release the beast on them... and on you."

The man held his stomach and started to laugh hysterically, making them both retreat. They noticed the people behind the crazy man looking unbothered, as if this is a daily occurrence to them. The man had calmed his laughing down to a smirk and looked back at the peephole.

"Don't force us to hurt you. We don't want to kill a potential disciple. Please just let us be their savior. Good luck finding them, Wandertons."
