14 - Melanie Recalls Pt. 5 (The Three Good Traitors)

"See this picture?" The picture contained a man in a Saviors cloak without its hood on, showing him looking at the camera smiling. Melanie and Gaden both came closer to him, eyebrows raised in curiosity.

"Who is that?" Melanie hunched over, taking a closer look at the picture. Brian took a quick glance at her before looking back at his phone.

"This man killed my best friend, Damon. I'm planning to post this picture in a public post.  That way, the police can get him. Don't worry, the one I'm using is an anonymous account."

Brian looked back at them, whose eyes were sparkling in excitement at the opportunity of taking the man out.

"What are you waiting for? Press post!" Smiling, he pushed the button.

PRESENT TIME

"And it worked. We managed to rat out a couple of guys to the police." Melanie glanced at Rafi and Emilia, who were smiling at the predicament of those members.

Melanie slowly glanced down, her face now contorting into a melancholic expression. At this behavior, Rafi and Emilia were quick to drop down their smiles.

"After that, what happened?" Emilia asked.

"... We got caught."

FLASHBACK

The three of them were looking at the phone, the brightness lighting up the dark room.

"Press it!" Brian tapped his thumb at the screen, smiling at the thought of the members spending their time in jail. While Brian was enjoying this quietly, Melanie and Gaden were jumping in circles while laughing, unable to handle their excitement down.

Slowly, the door opened, the creaking grabbing their attention.

"What are you doing in the middle of the night laughing? It's creepy by the way." A lady's voice rang out through the room, her green eyes scanning them one by one. All three of them looked back at her in fear, notably, Brian was trying to hide the phone from her as discreetly as possible.

The lady's eyes quickly glanced at Brian, slowly frowning in suspicion. Using the mirror in front of them, she squinted her eyes to get a better view, noticing the 'post' sign at the screen.

With her eyes widening, she shouted, "Guys! I found the traitors!"

"Shit! Let's run!" Brian jumped over a wooden crate, grabbing for the latch on the window while on a tiptoe. He can hear his heartbeat thundering like Melanie and Gaden, only worsening as he can hear footsteps nearing their room.

Finally, he opened the window, a ray of moonlight shining across the room. "Guys! Come on! Brian pushed himself out of the window, landing successfully on the ground. Noticing the window was open, Gaden quickly wrapped his arms around Melanie, throwing her gently out of the window.

Looking back, Gaden saw silhouettes of the members running towards them, weapons in hand. With his heartbeat starting to accelerate, he jumped over at the window, noticing them starting to run in the streets. Quickly, he closed down the window, harsh knocking audible on his side.

Landing on the floor with a loud thud, he ran as fast as he can.

The Streets 

"That was close." Gaden remarked quietly, panting exhaustedly. They were all hiding in a bush, bloodcurdling shouts and cries audible across the street they were hiding. The louder the shouting, the more nervous they felt.

"If you find them, kill them!" They all flinched at the leader's request, their eyes watering at the thought of their possible death. Melanie covered her nose with her hand, trying to mask the loud breathing as quietly as possible.
