I kept my eyes on the sky, watching out for any signs of Tokoyami's team. Seeing a flock of birds flying not too far away, I quickly pulled Sero and Aoyama into an alley, hiding. Huddling close to the wall, I hadn't realised how close Sero and I were. Because of the panic, I had pulled him so close that our arms were pressed against each other. I wanted to make some space but hesitated to move, being able to hear Koda's birds above us. Taking a glance at Sero, I noticed the pink tint to his cheeks, eyes averted.
"Are you alright?" I asked, wanting to make sure that this wasn't making him uncomfortable. Our eyes met briefly before he quickly looked away, giving a shy nod.
"Yeah, just fine," he whispered. I gave it another minute or so before I took a moment fo survey the area, wanting to make sure the coast was clear. Looking around, I felt relieved when I observed Koda's birds heading in the opposite direction of my group. Making my way back to the others, I gave them a pleased expression.
"It looks like they gave up on us," I told them after making my observation.
"They may be off our tail but I think we should still lay low while we search for other teams," Sero answered, keeping his guard up. I nodded, leading the three of us down the street, ensuring to take routes that made it difficult to notice us. As we traveled, trying to find another group, we all paused as All Might's voice echoed throughout the trainging ground.
"Team Ashido has been captured!" he announced, making us all feel uneasy. I hoped that we would be able to avoid some of the stronger teams, not wanting to run into Bakugou, Todoroki or Tokoyami again. It would make this a lot easier on ourselves if we managed to avoid them and take on a team we believed we could actually beat.
"Where should we go?" Aoyama asked, not failing to strike a pose as he did. I ignored it and let my eyes scan the empty street.
"We should keep looking for another team and hope we find them before someone else finds us," I said, all three of us jolting as we heard the sound of an explosion in the distance.
"I think we should head this way," Sero sweatdropped, pointing in the opposite direction of the explosion. Aoyama and I nodded in agreement, not wanting to go up against Bakugou and his team.
Taking the route Sero had suggested, I paused and put my arm out to stop the boys behind me as something caught by eye up ahead. Taking a moment to take it all in, I couldn't help but smile.
"There's a team up there," I whispered, not wanting to be noticed by them. Sero and Aoyama seemed to light up, feeling excited for what was about to come next.
"Do you think we can beat them?" Aoyama asked, sounding a little unsure after giving it some thought. I gave him a nod accompanied by a warm smile.
"I think we can. I'll take Ojiro, Sero you can take Tsu and Aoyama, I'm leaving Hagakure to you," I told them, looking back at them to see if they were happy with my suggestion. Sero didn't have a problem but it still looked like the blonde still felt a little uneasy. Placing my hand on his shoulder, I caught his attention.
"You're really strong, Aoyama. So I trust that you can take care of Hagakure, all you have to do it try and restrain her," I assured him, hoping it would give him his usual confidence. And luckily enough, he regained his sparkle in a matter of seconds.
The three of us ensured that we were all out of sight before I lifted my hand, counting down from five with my fingers. Putting my final finger down, we all dispersed from our hiding spots and rushed to our opponents, catching them off guard. Throwing a kick at Ojiro, he managed to dodge it last minute and regain his balace, readying himself in a fighting stance.
