Yeonjun was sad.

There was no particular reason, he just felt like crying or screaming.

Actually, that's a lie.

The boy had spent so much years of his seemingly long life pretending to be happy, that he believed he didn't have anymore happiness to give. 

That's what you were told if you asked why Yeonjun rarely smiled or laughed at anything.

Soobin thought it was bullshit.

Which is why when the two had to work together for music class, he was extremely irritated by the blue-haired boy's sulking mood. Whenever he tried to start a conversation or suggest something, Yeonjun would either ignore him or just nod his head.

No words.

"So, are you just gonna stay silent?" Soobin questioned, watching Yeonjun write something. Yeonjun shrugged. "I have no reason to say anything..." He mumbled. Soobin smiled. "You just said something now!"

Yeonjun looked up with a frown and shook his head. "Just...Stop talking,"

The younger couldn't stand this.

"Okay, listen here you...you...you shrivelled up watermelon! Stop acting so depressed! Life is full of wonders and joys and you can't just run out of happiness. Obviously, you being a drama queen and there's no point in living if you're gonna act like this!" Soobin snapped, slamming his hand on the desk they shared. 

He fucked up.

Yeonjun's lips quivered as his eyes became glossy. "N-No don't cry, I'm sorry!" Soobin apologised. Their music teacher, Mr. Min, came over. "What's going on?"

"I just told him to stop being sad..." Soobin mumbled, feeling ashamed. Mr. Min sighed and handed Yeonjun a tissue. "How about you go early, Jun? It's nearly time to go home anyway." 

Yeonjun sniffled and nodded. Soobin watched the elder leave, pouting. "Soobin,"

He saw his teacher watching him with an unreadable expression. "Yes, sir?"

"I know you have a reputation of 'fixing' people, but leave Yeonjun alone, okay?"

"But, Mr. Min, he's sad!"

"Sometimes it's okay to be sad, Soobin. Being happy all the time isn't good, and he just doesn't have any reason to be." Soobin bit his lip, deep in thought.

"I have no reason to say anything..."

"...He just doesn't have any reason to be."

"I'll just give him a reason!" Soobin exclaimed, causing Mr. Min to roll his eyes. 

"For fucks sake..." The teacher whispered. "Class dismissed, I can't bother with you idiots."
