Family Mutation

Beyoncé was peacefully sleeping when she felt a cold breeze. Pulling the covers up to her neck to stop the cold air from hitting her body.  It seem like the blanket wasn't doing anything for her. She cuddled closer to you to get herself warmer but she couldn't get that close since her pregnant stomach was in the way. Beyoncé didn't wake up until the house alarm she built informed her that her daughter's room is below zero degrees.

"Below 0 degrees? Must be a glitch, I'll fix it in the morning" Beyoncé thought.

Beyoncé typed in the password to turn the alarm off. Looking over at you, you was still sleep. Your wife shook her head at you, only you could sleep through a loud alarm.

"M-mommy" Zoey called out.

Beyoncé got up out the bed  to check on her daughter but Stopped in her tracks when she seen the hallway covered in ice.

"Y/N!" Beyoncé yelled.

"HUH!? WHO!?" You said instantly jumping up, your blue eye practically glowing in the moon light that gave the room some source of light. 

"The hallway is frozen" Beyoncé said moving to grab her tablet.

"The alarm went off saying Zoey's room is below zero degrees" Bey said waking Oscar up.

"Ok, stay in here, I got it" you said.

The cold didn't bother you since your body was used to it.

"Is there an emergency
Dr. Y/L/N?" Oscar asked.

"Show me Zoey's room" Beyoncé said sitting down on the bed, throwing the blanket around her.

A live feed of camera 3 came up on Beyoncé's tablet. It was literally like a blizzard in Zoey's room. The closer you got to your daughter's room, the colder it got.

"Mommy" Zoey called out again.

"This has to be her powers" you thought.

Entering her room, you had to go in full blaze mode in order to get close to your daughter. Your half your body being covered in flames.

"I can't stop it" Zoey's cried.

Her tears froze against her cheeks, she had frostbite on her cheeks and hands the 5 year old had no control over her newly discovered powers. You ended up grabbing your daughter in your arms, holding her close to your left side to warm her up.

"Calm down, it's ok....I got you" you said kissing her forehead, which instantly sent a warm sensation through her body.

The blizzard that formed in the room had stoped. All the ice slowly contracting back to her, leaving nothing soaked or damaged.

"She got her powers" Beyoncé said standing at the door.

You held your daughter in your arms for the rest of the night just in case her powers went out of control again.

You sat in Beyoncé's lab, on the couch in the corner with your daughter in your arms. Beyoncé was already working on something to nullify Zoey's powers and she was halfway done.

"What did your parents do when you got out of control with your ice manipulation?"  Beyoncé asked.

"Both sides always flared up at the same time. But my mama kept me in this barricade made out of thick ice" you explained while you held your daughter.

"Maybe we should call your mom over here" she said.

"No. If anything we'll go over there" you said.

"I can't. I really want to finish this protective gear for my baby" Beyoncé said

Beyoncé was creating something already for Zoey, it was just an under armor made with different fabric to stop Zoey from getting frostbite. Beyoncé was a scientist, known for her mutation gadgets. You met Beyoncé 10 years ago when you need a costume that'll be compatible for both your fire and ice sides. Out of your siblings you were the one that ended up with both your parents powers. You had to be trained the hardest growing up because you had to tame both sides.

"I'm hungry" Zoey mumbled as she woke up.

"Baby want taco's, what about yall?" Beyoncé asked.

"Mmm shrimp taco's" Zoey said sitting up in your lap.

"I'll order it. Come on ZoZo" you said standing up to go back upstairs.

You sat your daughter down, grabbing the tablet on the table. As soon as Zoey feet's touched the floor the floor began turning into ice.

"Mama it's happening again" Zoey said pulling on your shirt.

You picked her up, instantly warming her up to keep her at bay. You knew this was going to be a bumpy ride with your day and her knee powers.
