⚠️ WARNING! DRUGS AND IMPLICATIONS OF PHYSICAL AND VERBAL ABUSE! ⚠️
By the time Minx drove back home, narrowly missing approximately 3 mailboxes and 2 stray cats, it was Sunday at 2am. Of course Matthew caught his daughter sneaking in the clumsiest way possible which resulted in the cigarette she had in her mouth being put out on the side of her neck.
His exact words were , "You're taking 3 years of your life off anyway. Maybe I should give you a little reminder that smoking kills?"
Minx knew he didn't do it to teach her a lesson, but rather to take out his pent up rage on her.
She mumbled something about a yellow tree branch out to get her and rolled lazily onto her side. The early morning sun was out and it's rays were not any less bright than they are every morning. Minx got up and got ready, throwing her hair up into a messy ponytail with a few strands that hung down to frame her face.
She put on her normal makeup of mascara and chapstick, leaving her eye bags for the world to see. Minx put on a tight black shirt with a leather jacket and some baggy, navy blue jeans. Then she grabbed the black sunglasses hanging off her lamp shade.
Birds chirped and a gentle breeze rustled the tree's. Maxine was at the kitchen counter making scrambled eggs with bacon and biscuits. Matthew came up behind her and slid his arms around her waist. They stood like that for a few minutes until Minx slugged through the kitchen door, the black pair of glasses resting on top of her head.
"Good Morning honey! Would you like some breakfast?" Maxine noticed the burn mark on the side of the girls neck but didn't say anything about it.
"No, I'm good. Just came to tell you that I'm going out with a friend to breakfast. Her name is Piper Jennings."
Maxine nodded her head with a smile while Matthew narrowed his eyes at his daughter. "You're hardly at home anymore. I think it'd be best for you to stay and eat breakfast with us."
Minx scoffed in response. "Too late. I made the plans a couple days ago. See you guys later." She grabbed her keys and rushed out the front door, faintly hearing her father yelling for her. She really wasn't lying when she said that Piper and her made plans for breakfast.
She zoomed down the few roads to the diner that was about 5 minutes away from their highschool. Apparently it was the best one in town with 5-Star burgers and a chocolate milkshake to die for.
The little bells jingled on the door, and Piper looked up from the menu to the beauty, waving her over.
"Morning, Piper. Have a good weekend?" The emo looking girl shrugged her shoulders.
"It was alright. The family had brunch with these rich people yesterday, so that wasn't fun to attend. What about you? Anything exciting happen?"
Minx laughed under her breath. "Nothing but getting high and drunk off my ass." She slipped the sunglasses off of her tired-looking eyes and on top of her head.
