"Would anyone like to guess what is inside?" Remus questioned the class of fifth years. Once again the class was filled with Gryffindor's and Slytherin's, this time all gathered around a wardrobe that shook violently.
"That's a boggart" a student blurted out from the crowd.
"Very good" Remus said pleased as he made his way to the wardrobe. "Now what does a boggart look like?"
The class stayed silent, each student looking to the others for answers. Astrid didn't want to answer as everyone knew Remus was her godfather. She didn't want to come off as a know-it-all. Soon enough she sighed and slowly raised her hand.
"Yes!" Remus said excitedly. "Ms. Stellar what is the answer?"
"No one knows" she said softly. "A boggart is a shape shifter that takes shape of whatever you fear the most."
"Yes, very good. Luckily a very simple charm exists to repel a boggart. Let's say it now, um without wands please."
Everyone listened carefully waiting to hear their cue.
"Say it after me" Remus said. "Riddikulus."
The class said the word before being made to repeat it a few more times until it sounded almost perfect.
"Now the incantation is not enough" Remus began again. "What really finishes the boggart is laughter. You need to force it to find a shape you find truly amusing. Now since I know she knows how to do this, Astrid would you demonstrate?"
She stepped back, biting her lip and she sent him a glare.
"Go on" she heard a boy say from beside her. She looked up to see the boy named George. His twin Fred was on the other side of Casey. She looked nervously between him and Remus. The one trait of Slytherin she did not possess was the crave for attention, she couldn't stand being in front of others.
"It's okay" George said sending her a warm smile. He truly felt for this girl, she had done nothing wrong so far and was being treated like a villain. She nodded with a smile and walked to the front of the class.
"Now Astrid, what frightens you most of all?" Remus asked as the girl shifted nervously knowing her answer. She was scared that her dad really was a villain. The worry filled her head almost all day, every day.
"I don't know" she said softly.
"Well I certainly know you fear spiders" Remus replied with a laugh. "Think of that."
Astrid turned to the wardrobe as Remus stood beside her, ready to open it with his wand. The door of the wardrobe clicked open as Astrid held her wand in front of her, ready to say the incantation any minute. She heard chains and her face fell. This was certainly not a spider. The figure stepped out of the wardrobe, standing directly in front of her. Her eyes met the face and she immediately stepped back. The rest of the class gasped.
