Astrid approached her godfathers office before knocking lightly. She heard no one so she cracked the door peering in. No one was to be seen. 'Surely he would be here' she thought as she stepped into the room. Looking on his desk she noticed a slip of paper. The Marauders Map. She remembered hearing that he had confiscated it from Harry a few nights back. She walked over to it, figuring it would be easy to find him on here than searching the whole castle.
"I solemnly swear that I am up to no good" she spoke as the words appeared on the parchment.
She opened it scanning her eyes over it before they landed on the whomping willow. Her eyes widened as she saw Remus Lupins name along with three fellow students, Hermione, Ron, and Harry. Realization washed over the girl, she remembered the moon phase tonight. She quickly spoke the words "Mischief managed" before throwing the parchment down and running out of his office. She ran down the halls, pushing past students before she reached an exit picking up speed. She finally reached the whomping willow, sliding to a halt as she did. She remembered Lupin telling her there was room in it, above the hole that entered the room was a knot to make the tree stop thrashing. She took a breath before running forward towards the knot that she kept her eyes on. The branches whipped all around her, slapping her face a few times leaving small scratches. She reached it and stopped the tree, it's branches perking back up and no longer clawing at the girl. She dropped her head, looking to the small entrance before she took a breath and slid into it.
"Ouch" she said as she landed, grasping her arm. The hole was deeper than she expected. She quickly picked up her wand that had fallen onto the floor and lifted it.
"Lumos" she spoke as her wand lit the walls of the cave like place. She began walking forward, wooden boards creaking below her feet as she cautiously stepped across them. She climbed some small stairs continuing her walk, she shuddered at the thought of all the spiders and things that had made this their home. She reached the end of the walk, looking above her to see a small hole. As the girl was barely five foot two, she had to jump and pull herself through the opening. She grunted as she made it through, sitting on the dusty floor. Her eyes scanned the room and widened with realization.
"The shrieking shack?" she muttered out in confusion. Why would they be here?
She made her way up some stairs before entering a room where she heard the trio talking. A loud thud came from the room and she pushed the door open to see Harry holding his wand against Sirius Black. She gasped covering her mouth, it couldn't be.
"Are you going to kill me Harry?" the deranged looking man asked. She felt a pair of arms move her aside.
"Expelliarmus!" the man shouted. The wand flew from Harry's hand and she looked over seeing Remus.
"What are you doing?" she shrieked running over to Ron and Hermione, taking the spot in front of them. That is when she saw him. As soon as her eyes landed on the man her blood went cold. Her hand began shaking and tears welled in the girls eyes. There in the corner was her father, Tate Stellar. Their eyes connected and she quickly looked away, she didn't know what to think or to do. She felt Ron grip her shirt in fear, hiding behind the girl. Harry jumped up and stood beside Astrid as Hermione gripped his arm.
