Chapter 19

*Sophia's POV*

So Ryan and I got to the beach safe and sound. We sat down on the sand and I looked over at Ryan with curious eyes.

"How did you know to bring us here?" I asked him curiously

"Well, I figured this would be a perfect spot for our hang out. It's the place where we first met" He smiled gently and I returned the gesture.

"It's beautiful— the ocean, the land, everything..." I spoke and looked over at Ryan who was staring at me with lost eyes.

"Yeah it is" he mumbled

"Ryan?" I waved my hand in front of his face and he quickly snapped out of his thoughts causing me to laugh at him.

"Uhh yeah....sorry. I guess I zoned out a bit" he chuckled and blushed a bit as he looked ahead of him.

"So, you going to tell me why your boyfriend locked you up in a room?" He asked and I sighed thinking of Lucca.

"He didn't want me seeing you today, or any other day for that matter" I sighed and looked down

"Wow. So you escaped just to disobey him and hang out with me, I feel real special right now" he chuckled as I playfully punched his arm smiling.

"I just had to get out a bit, I mean I love him but he needs to trust me." I looked over at Ryan and an unknown emotion showed in his eyes as he sighed and looked down.

"But he has every right to be possessive over you— you're really beautiful and any guy would be lucky enough to call you his" he smiled sadly at me

"Ryan... I really think you're a great guy and any girl would be lucky enough to go out with you. But I love him, it's always going to be him. The guy has me wrapped around his finger. He owns my heart— yes things are a bit complicated right now, but I won't give up on him. Just like he isn't willing to give up on me..."

"Wow he sure is a lucky guy, you really are something Sophia" he chuckled shortly then leaned over and kissed me on my cheek, surprising me as I stared at him with wide eyes.

"If I can't get a kiss from you, might as well steal a friendly kiss on the cheek" he shrugged and laughed. I laughed with him and pecked him on his cheek too which surprised him.

"I had to return the gesture, you weirdo. Friends?" I chuckled and stuck my hand out to him.

He smiled and shook my hand.

"Friends" he declared and we spoke more for a bit till I firgured it was time for me to head back to my possessive boyfriend.

"Hey Ryan, I think we should go. I really need to head back before he comes looking for me, finds me, then ends up beating you up. And I really don't want my new friend to get beaten up" I chuckled and he laughed too.

"Okay, come on" we got up and headed for his car, we drove back to the mansion while listening to some old school music— which was really calming right now. Well the calm before the storm as they say.

Once Ryan pulled up we saw a very angry Lucca immediately storming out of the big gates and walking quickly over to Ryan's side of the car. I panicked and reached over to lock the doors.

Lucca banged on the car window angrily and trying to open the door.

"OPEN THIS FUCKING DOOR!! I'M GOING TO FUCKING KILL YOU!! YOU SON OF A BITCH!" He kept on yelling and soon I saw Jason running up to Lucca trying to hold him back.

Ryan and I got out of the car as I rushed over to Lucca trying to calm him down, his chest heaved up and down as Jason and myself tried to keep him put. He was ready to beat the crap out of Ryan.

"Lucca! Lucca please calm down. Ryan didn't do anything, I'm sorry for escaping but I had to get away for a few. I was always going to come back" Lucca quickly looked at me and angrily shook Jason off him as he panted.

"This is what you want huh? You want to leave me for this piece of shit? FINE! I don't know what more you fucking want from me Sophia when I've been trying to sort out all of this shit by myself. And you! I'm going to fucking kill you, you son of a BITCH! Who the fuck do you think you are?!!" He walked over to Ryan punching him square in the jaw, then he kicked Ryan in the stomach and Jason quickly pulled Lucca back as I started crying and rushed over to Lucca and grabbed his face between my hands.

"Lucca, Lucca please listen to me— I would never leave you for anyone else, how could you say that? Ryan and I are just friends, I promise you. You have to believe me when I say I'll never leave you, I love you Lucca. I love you so much. It's always going to be you, just you and I. I promise" I hugged him tight and he quickly reacted by hugging me back panting.

Jason then helped Ryan up and asked him if he was okay, Ryan said he was fine and wiped some blood off his bottom lip.

Lucca pulled back and I looked up at him as he looked into my eyes.

"I'm sorry baby, I felt so hurt and I thought you left me again. I do trust you Sophia, I trust you with my life. But the thought of someone else stealing you away from me really scares me. I can't lose you. I just can't" he hugged me tighter now.

Then it happened. It seemed like everything went in slow motion...

A car driving by honking, all of us turning to look who it was when we saw the bitch get out but she had something in her hand. A gun, she aimed it at me and her lips moved as she was talking, but I couldn't comprehend what she was saying and the next thing I know— a loud bang went off and I was clutching my stomach. Blood oozing out, People screaming my name. My vision was blurry but I saw she got back in her car and they drove off.

I began falling down but someone quickly grabbed me. Everything felt like it was in slow motion.

"Sophia!! Baby?! Baby. Please look at me" Lucca looked at me tears streaming down his beautiful face as I smiled weakly at him. I reached out and touched his face softly as he cried and yelled for Jason to call the ambulance.

"Baby please stay awake. You're going to be okay! Just please keep your eyes open. Please!" he cried harder and was starting to sob right now. It pained me to see him like this but my eyes were getting heavier and heavier, I felt sleepy...

"I love you Lucca..." I spoke breathlessly and smiled weakly at him as I felt my eyes starting to close.

"No no no... You're not saying goodbye, you're not leaving me!! I love you baby. You can't do this to me. Baby please!" he cried and cried as he held me close to his chest and sobbed.

I felt his tears fall upon my face and him yelling at someone to hurry the fuck up. Everything started fading away and I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore. Everything just went black.
