Chapter 23

*Sophia's POV*

Lucca quickly engulfed me in a hug, then pulled back quickly and held my face in between his hands. He planted kisses all over my face and I really wanted to laugh at his cuteness right now but my body was still very weak and my throat felt as though I swallowed a bale of hay.

"Oh my baby, I can't believe it. You're finally awake— I missed you so much, don't ever do that to me again" He hugged me again but this time I managed to slowly bring my hand up and touch his back.

"Lucca I just call-" Lucca pulled back and I then saw Jason looking shocked as tears started filling his eyes, he rushed over to me and hugged me tightly.

Ouchhh

"Oh God, Soph, you're awake. You're okay and you're awake" He pulled back and smiled at me. I put my hand over his and slowly nodded my head with a weak smile.

"I'll go call the doctor" Jason left quickly and I looked over at Lucca who had tears in his eyes as he stared at me.

I tried to speak but my throat hurt so I pointed to a glass of water near Lucca. He soon realised what I was asking for and quickly brought the glass to my lips so that I could drink some water.

He placed the glass back down and my throat felt a bit better.

"Are you okay, baby?" Lucca sat on my bedside and held my hands looking at me concerned. I slowly nodded at him showing him I was fine.

Jason soon came rushing back in along with Ryan, my parents, Vincenzo and Pablo who all looked relieved with huge smiles on their faces upon seeing me awake.

One by one they all came to hug me and saying things like, how glad they are that I'm okay etc. Jason took a bit longer than all of them saying how he sang our happy song and that it was the song that made me wake up. I rolled my eyes at him and everyone else in the room laughed, Ryan then came over and smiled at me.

Oh right... Dr. Hammond.

"Hi, how are you feeling?" He asked

"I'm fine, just my body feels a bit weak" I mumbled and he nodded while jotting some stuff down on his clipboard.

"You will have to stay here for a while until you have fully recovered, your body is still very weak so we have to monitor your health for safety regulations. I'm going to give you some vitamins you will have to take on a daily basis and then once we see improvement, you'll be stable enough to go back home" he said and then walked over to my parents explaining some stuff to them.

Then I quickly remembered something and looked over to Lucca who instantly came by my side seeing my panicked face.

"L-Lucca what happened to the woman that shot me?" I asked.

Just as he was about to answer, Lucca's dad stepped in and spoke up.

"She's taken care of— she has been arrested and I had some of my people make sure she was put away for good. Your father, Pablo and Lucca took care of the other things like her son is with his dad now. The boy is going back with his father to LA, you're safe now Sophia. She won't ever hurt you again" he spoke

Wait I thought Lucca was the father of the child

"The kid was never mine baby, I was going to tell you sooner but I had to find out what Savannah was planning first. She lied and faked the DNA tests claiming the kid was mine, but I soon found out it wasn't. Baby I would never cheat on you, ever." Well that is a huge fucking relief then.

I smiled at him, and motioned for him to lean closer. Once he was close enough I whispered those three words I've been longing to say for a while.

"I love you" and slowly kissed his cheek.

He smiled widely at me then took my face in between his hands.
"I love you more baby" he said and kissed me softly on my lips.

"Uhhh guys, there are people standing like— right here" I heard Jason's voice and we quickly pulled away. I looked at them all apologetically and Lucca just chuckled while everyone smiled at us.

"Uh guys I'm sorry to interrupt right now, but it's almost time to leave and Sophia needs as much rest as possible. Unfortunately all of you cannot stay here so I'll allow atleast 2 people maximum" Ryan said

"I'll stay, you guys can head on home, I want to stay with Sophia" Lucca spoke up and everyone nodded their heads okay. They all said their goodbyes, gave me hugs and left with Ryan.

I looked over at Lucca and he was getting ready to sleep on the chair which looked quite uncomfortable so I shook my head and motioned for him to come over.

"Yes baby?" he said

"Sleep next to me" I whispered and he smiled at me. He laid down next to me on the bed wrapping his arms around me as I laid my head on his chest and listened to his heart beat.

"I'm so glad you're okay, I don't think I'd ever be able to move on if something were to happen to you" He mumbled.

"But I'm okay now, that's all that matters" I mumbled back softly.

"I love you Sophia"

"I love you more Lucca" I mumbled and just laid in the arms of the love of my life. I'm never letting go of this man, ever.
