Chapter 24

**6 months later**

*Sophia's POV*

"Baby are you ready?!" I heard Lucca yell from downstairs.

"Yes, just give me a sec!" I grabbed my purse and phone and headed downstairs.

The past few months went by in a blur. I recovered fully and surprisingly the gun wound healed pretty quickly. Lucca stayed by my side 24/7, Jason pampered me all the time and was treating me like I was disabled. At first it was cute but then after a while it got annoying when he constantly had a go at me for eating certain foods and saying it was unhealthy or bad for me. Ryan and I are still friends, Lucca doesn't hate him that much anymore but still doesn't exactly see eye to eye with him. He says he will forever be grateful to Ryan for helping me but will never get used to us being friends since he's a guy.

Lucca's mom is still getting treatment and we actually visited her a few days ago to see how she was doing. She's actually making good progress and as for Vincenzo—he's back in the US again on a business trip, constantly drowning himself in work. My parents are out and about, dad and Pablo are also busy with some business deals.

And right now? Well right now Lucca is taking me out on a date but he won't tell me where he is taking me. As I got downstairs I saw Lucca looking all handsome in his black suit.

My baby was looking so handsome.

I smiled at him as he gawked at me.

"Wow. You look gorgeous, baby" he growled in my ear and I giggled at him.

"You don't look too bad yourself" I smirked and he just chuckled at me.

We walked out and got into Lucca's car, as we were driving one of our favourite songs started playing. 'Say you won't let go' - by James Arthur

We sang along as Lucca held my hand with his free hand.

"I knew I loved you then, but you'd never know, cause I played it cool when I was scared of letting go" Lucca sang.

"I know I needed you, but I never showed" I sang and looked over at him to find him smiling.

"I wanna stay with you till we're grey and old" he sang and gave me a quick glance before turning his attention back to the road.

The chorus came and I continued singing the next part.

"I'll wake you up with some breakfast in bed— I'll bring your coffee with, a kiss on your head"I sang and chuckled at the lyrics.

"And I'll take the kids to school, wave them goodbye— and I'll thank my lucky stars for that night" Lucca sang

The song went on and Lucca continued the next few lines. I was so fucking in love with this man.

"And you look as beautiful as ever, and I swear that everyday you'll get better, you make me feel this way some how" He continued singing while I stared at him in complete awe.

"I'm so in love with you, and I hope you know, darling your love is more than worth its weight in gold"

Soon the song ended and we arrived at the destination Lucca brought us to.

Lucca got out first and came around to open my side, I took his hand he held out for me to grab and said thank you giving him a peck on the lips.

The place looked beautiful, it was like an enclosed garden. I looked over at Lucca and he led us over to a table that was placed in the centre of everything, it was decorated with candles and red rose petals laying everywhere. The lights lit up the entire garden and it all looked so beautiful.

"Oh my... Lucca, this is so beautiful. You did all of this?" I asked him with a huge smile on my face.

"Mhmm, only the best for my baby" he pulled out my chair for me to sit down and I chuckled sitting down and thanking him. I have a surprise for Lucca too, hopefully it's as good as his amazing date surprise.

A waiter then came over to our table and Lucca immediately gave him a signal to bring something out, I looked at Lucca with curious eyes and he just smiled at me.

Soon the waiter came out with a tray and placed it down in front of us. He then lifted the lid and placed two steak dishes in front of Lucca and I and walked off with the tray.

"I had them make 2 garlic steaks with rosemary flavouring on the side. It tastes delicious, trust me, you'll love it" Lucca said with a smile, I smiled back at him and began to dig in then, the waiter brought a bottle of red wine and two glasses for Lucca and I.

I pursed my lips at the sight of the wine and then looked at Lucca to see him eating his steak. We continued to eat and made small talk along the way. Once we were done the waiter took the plates away and Lucca looked at me curiously.

"You barely touched your glass of wine baby. Don't you like it?" he asked

"No no I do, it's just— I guess I'm not in the mood for wine tonight" I said trying to avoid the subject or else he'll figure it out.

He looked hesitant before replying okay and then scratched the back of his neck looking nervous. I looked at him curiously before he got up from his seat and began walking to my side slowly.

"Lucca what are you-" I immediately cut myself off when I saw Lucca getting down on one knee and he took out a small box from his suit pocket. I gasped and covered my mouth with my hands.

Am I dreaming?

He opened the box to reveal a beautiful diamond ring with little diamonds surrounding the big diamond.
Lucca cleared his throat and I just stared at him as he began to speak.

"Sophia...you possessed my heart the very first day I met you, I knew from that day onwards that there was something special about you. From your beautiful features to your amazing personality, I love you with every fibre of my being and promise to love you for as long as we both shall live. So— will you Sophia Isabelle Caruso, make me the happiest man alive and marry me?"

I was now crying and immediately nodded my head screaming 'Yes!'
Lucca slid the ring on my finger and then twirled me around happily.

I think now is the time for my surprise too

"Lucca I have something to tell you..."
I said once Lucca put me down.

"What is it baby?" he asked holding me by my waist and smiling brightly at me.

Well, here it goes...

"I'm pregnant" I finally said and he looked shocked. Soon after a few seconds that shocked expression turned into one of pure happiness as his eyes started to water.

"I'm going to be a dad? We're having a baby! Holy shit! I'M GOING TO BE A DAD!" He screamed and laughed, then kissed me passionately as I smiled into the kiss.

This is my happy ending. Fuck fairytales because I'm living the real thing.
