Chapter 25: Awkward Dinner

I tried to stay as far away as possible from Andy and Ricardo's house. I really didn't want psycho neighbours

I was like praying they wouldn't knock on our door again

"Dinnertime!" Paul called from the kitchen

Nick, Katie and I all ran downstairs and found our seats and started eating

"Where's mom?" Katie asked

"Oh, she's just resting. It's going to be a long week for her." Paul told her

"But shouldn't she eat? Pregnant people should eat meals, ya know." Katie said

"She's got a point." I said

Paul rolled his eyes "She already had a meal right before this. And this shouldn't concern you kids."

Guess what happened next?

The doorbell rang

Paul got up

"No, don't get it!" I yelled

"Why? What's going on?" Paul asked me

I sighed "Just don't. One of our new neighbours is evil."

"We have new neighbours?" Paul asked

"Frick!" I yelled

Paul put his hand on my shoulder and told me "I got this, Sydney." And he went to get the door...

I heard the door open and heard an unfamiliar voice

"Hello! I'm Ricardo. And this is my fiancée Andy!"

I wanted to cry

"Well, nice to meet you both! Come on in!" Paul said to them

Then the 2 entered our freaking kitchen. Kian wasn't kidding. Ricardo sure was ugly and scary looking

The moment Ricardo saw my face, his eyes widened

"Am I gonna die?" I asked nervously

Everyone looked at me funny

"What? What's going on? Are you just nervous because of the new baby?" Paul asked me

Ricardo said "New baby? Aww."

Andy looked at me and smiled "Hi! I met you earlier today! Sydney, right?"

I nodded and smiled at him "Yes, hi."

Paul ruined everything by saying "Well, please find a seat. Laura! Come in here and meet our new neighbours!"

Then...the 2 sat down. Ricardo sat down beside Nick and I was so afraid Ricardo was secretly going to pass him some weed or something

Andy and mom were sitting beside each other

"Well, I'm Paul. I work in the photography business and this is my wife Laura and she is about to give birth next week!"

Andy and Ricardo both awed. Stupid Ricardo is such a fake

Paul nodded at Katie

"Okay. I'm Katie. I'm 14. I just finished freshman year and yeah." Katie told them

"14, eh?" Ricardo said

HOLY CRAP! IS RICARDO GOING TO TRY AND DO SOMETHING TO HER?!

"I'm Nick! But you can call me Nicky! I just finished 6th grade! and my birthday is next month! I'm turning 11!" Nick said

"I'm Sydney. I just finished my last year of high school and I'm going in to university. I'm 18 years old."

So many thoughts were racing through my mind throughout this meal. What did Ricardo mean by "14, eh?"
Why did his eyes widen when he saw me? Has he seen photos of me and Kian? All I wanted to do at this point was call Kian so he could kick Ricardo in the balls
