Chapter 25: A Twist of Events

Mitch's POV

I groaned as I began to regain consciousness. My back and shoulder aching.

"He's waking up!" Called out a voice "Get the others!"

I groaned again and began to open my eyes as I weakly pushed myself up. Everything was really blurry but from what I could make out, I could see I was in an infirmary of some sort.

"Take it easy Mitchell." The voice said to me, I turned to it and, once my vision had cleared, I could see it was a man with a white doctors coat on.

"It's just Mitch." I muttered as I sat up, wincing as I moved my shoulder and back.

"Well, Mitch." He said "Take it easy, your wounds are still tender."

"Where am I?" I asked looking around.

"Back at base." Came a voice and I turned to see Jerome walking in, with the others close behind, all looking relived. Ty and Jason stood near the back but also looked happy to see me. I noticed Ian and Seto weren't there though, maybe they were and I couldn't see them, it was getting pretty crowded in the room after all.

I smiled at them "Hey guys, what happened after I passed out?" I asked.

"Once we got you off the fire, we knew we had to get you back here ASAP. We thought you were dead for a moment."

"Well I'm quiet happy that I'm not." I said with a small smile.

"You have Seto to thank for that, with help from Ty, he managed to teleport all of us back here and he managed to heal most of your near fatal wounds."

I smiled, 'Thank Notch for Seto'

"Where is Seto by the way?" I asked.

"Resting." Ty said "After he healed you he passed out, he's been out for about as long as you have."

I frowned "How long have I been out?" I asked.

"About two days..." Jason said bluntly.

"Two Days?!?!" I yelped. "Why didn't you wake me?! Bella could be dead by now!"

The doctor cleared his throat and we all turned to him "You in really bad condition, I doubt you would have woken up even if they tried. Also, I wouldn't let them."

Quentin scoffed "He's not kidding, Jerome tried to get in while you were unconscious and the doctor ended up sedating him."

Jerome rolled his eyes. "I was just trying to see him..."

I chuckled at the thought of it, "Fine, well, can I get out now? I asked the doctor.

The doctor smiled and said "You can, but take it easy, if you have to fight, I recommend taking a potion of strength to help."

I smiled "Great." I said getting off the bed and standing up, I wobbled slightly, feeling dizzy for a moment, but I blamed that on being in bed for so long.

Jerome walked over to me to no doubt help, but I shook my head "I'll be fine. So what's the game plan?"

"Well, Ian's gathering all the generals in the library so we can plan our next move, everyone's gotten used to seeing Ty and Jason so we don't need to explain that part."

I nodded "Good. Well lezz go!" I said slowly walking out and heading towards the library.

Jason's POV

When we arrived we found all the generals, once again, gathered around the large table. Seto was also there as well, looking pale, but alright.
