Chapter 2

I woke up on the same bed from earlier that day. Except now it was night and the room was full of concerned knights, Merlin, Gaius and the King. God I have been here less than twenty-four hours and I have passed out twice. Great first impression Peter.

"What happened?" I asked quietly, my head still throbbing slightly.

"You passed out." Merlin stated a little confused himself. The memories came back and I felt a wave of guilt pass over me.

"Sorry. I should have told you before. I get sensory overloads because of my powers. They are triggered by stress, this place is very stressful." I am met by kind smiles, making me feel slightly better.

A loud ding goes off and the knights draw their swords ready to attack. I couldn't hold back my laughs as I went over to pick up my mask. I put it on an unlocked Karen.

"Hello Peter, how can I be of assistance."

"Hi Karen, do I have a new message. There was an alert." An envelope icon pops up with a little 1 above it. My heart pounds against my rib cage in anticipation.

"It appears you do have one message. Opening now."

"Kid we can't get to you. Bruce, Stephen and I have tried everything we can. Strange even used the time stone. But nothing will work. I am so sorry I failed you kid." The message ended and I tore the mask off sending it flying into the wall. I collapsed back on the bed and began to cry, completely forgetting about the others in the room.

They can't get me back. If two of the smartest people on earth and a damn wizard can't get me home what's the hope for me?

"Peter, it's okay. We will figure out a way to get you home." Merlin said, drawing me into a hug which I melted into.

"How? You don't have any technology to send me home." I wept. Merlin inhaled sharply, seemingly contemplating whether or not to say something more.

"I know a way." I reel back and stare at him. He can send me home? How? "I can use my magic to send you home."

"What!?" Arthur yells but Merlin gives him a stern look.

"Now really isn't the time for this discussion Arthur." Merlin turns back to me, opening his mouth to explain more but is rudely cut off by the king.

"I think it is!" All their shouting was making my head throb louder.

"No it's not Arthur. Once we have sent Peter home, then we can talk about this." Merlin yells, eyes clouded with an anger I have never seen before.

"Guys." I whisper holding my head. They ignore me.

"Merlin why didn't you tell me?"

"Like I could walk up to the Prince of Camelot and say 'Oh hey Arthur just so you know I am a warlock.' You would have killed me!" Merlin yells, stepping closer to the king, fists balled defensively.

"Guys." I say a little louder. The knights are too focused on the screaming battle going on to notice my discomfort.

"I don't think I would have." Arthur said, lowering his voice slightly but still obtaining the same level of anger.

"Well I didn't want to put you in that position." Merlin choked back a sob, to overwhelmed with emotion. That makes two of us.

"GUYS!" I scream. A burst of energy pulses through me and knocks everyone off their feet. All eyes land on me, slightly afraid of my outburst. If I'm being honest so am I.

"Wh- what was that?" A tall muscular knight, who I believe is called Percival stuttered.

"I don't know." I whispered looking down at my hands which felt like they were pulsing. Merlin snapped out of his angered trance and brought his hand to his mouth.

"Peter you have magic."

---

I could still hear the heated argument from my guest chamber. Merlin and Arthur had barely stopped and it has been two hours. It was stressing me the hell out. Not to mention I have magic. Magic! Why the hell do I have magic?

My breathing quickened and the candle light flickered. I could feel the magic clawing at my skin, begging to be released. The more I refuse the more painful it becomes. So I let it out. The fires extinguish and the chairs and table get blown into the wall. Any glass or ceramics shatter, causing a deafening bang.

I shake under the covers of the bed, wishing everything could go back to the way things were. When my life was normal. When I wasn't Spiderman.

The door bursts open and Merlin stands there in shock. "Peter you have to control it."

"Really? I wouldn't be having these outbursts if you and Arthur would have shut up when I asked." I yelled, my magic lashing out once more, sending the door of its hinges. "And don't you dare tell me to calm down because today I lost the closest thing to a family I have ever had, my best friends, my life and now my sanity. I am the furthest from calm."

My voice seems to shake the room sending small clouds of dust into the air. Merlin looked at me sternly and muttered a spell. "ηρεμία". My body went limp and waves of relaxation lapped over my body.

Merlin walked over to the bed and sat down next to me. "Feel better?" He asked with a knowing smile. I nodded and rested my head on the pillow. "I understand how you feel, Peter. I have lost everything I held dear to me. I had to watch my father die, then my mother. I had my magic taken from me at Camelot's time of need then abandoned Arthur to retrieve it. All before the age of eighteen. Now I may have lost my closest friends because of my magic. At least I can get you home. Now I fear I don't have one myself."

"I'm sorry this is all my fault. If I hadn't tried to make that stupid portal jumper none of this would have happened. Now I have ruined two lives." I felt close to tears again, Merlin looked as if he were about to cry as well.

"Well we still have each other, right?" I whisper, sideling closer to the teen. A faint blush covers his cover and makes him look adorable.

"Yeah we do."
