Two weeks. Two weeks I have been in this godforsaken bed enduring test after test. I keep insisting I am fine but the others are not convinced. Stephen has questioned me relentlessly about my magic, trying to figure out how it works. I can never give him a straight answer because in truth I don't know how it works. It's all instinct.

"For the last time I don't know. When I find Merlin you can ask him." I snap at the man. I realise my slip up and turn bright red.

"Merlin is here? How?"

"I um...I kinda made a spell that will restore his dopelganger's memories of me. Oh and it's not just Merlin, but the Knights, Arthur and Gaius too." I smile at the memory of them and Stephen looks at me fondly.

"Well we will find them soon. For now you need rest. God knows what travelling through time could do to you." I roll my eyes but stay in bed anyway. Once he leaves I play around with my magic.

At first I create a large dragon out of golden sparks, making it soar around the room until it bursts into mini fireworks. Then I turn my attention to the sink and with a flick of my wrist the water is running. I concentrate hard and mutter a spell. The water curves as if alive, trying to break free from the current. The more it wriggles the happier I feel. All this reminded me of the lessons with Merlin, honing my skills to get me where I am today.

I giggle to myself when the water leaves the tap, snaking through the air gracefully.

"Wow kid, this is quite something." The water explodes at the sudden interruption and I am drenched. Tony laughs from the doorway and goes to get me a towel. I smirk and gesture for him to stop.

"ξηρός" A warm breeze curls around me, drying every inch leaving a lovely warm sensation.

"I say it again. This is really something. How much did Merlin teach you?" Tony asked with his head cocked.

"Everything." I didn't mean to sound upset, but I couldn't mask it anymore. I missed him more than I could describe. Tony seemed to sense this and sat next to me, the bed dipping slightly.

"There is more to this boy that you aren't telling me. I see the way your eyes light up when I mention him. You can tell me Pete." I nod but remain silent. Am I ready to admit my true feelings to my mentor? How do I know he will accept me?

"Whenever you're ready." Tony whispers, patting me on the back. He got up to leave, but I tugged lightly on his wrist forcing him to sit back down.

"I...I love him." I avoid eye contact, but my voice didn't waver. It was strong and confident.

"Then let's find him."

----

"This is hopeless! We are never going to find him." I yell falling back into my chair. The avengers give me sympathetic looks which just make me even more pissed. I storm out of the room and head for the roof, needing to clear my head.

The cool breeze hits me as soon as I step out the elevator. It's refreshing and gives my brain a chance to wind down. I look out into the city and sigh.

"Where are you Merlin.

---

I am cruel for drawing this bit out...ehehehehehe
