Chapter 12

Month number two and still no sign of Merlin. We have, however, found Gwaine, Leon and Lancelot. The reunion was amazing. They have barely left my side since finding me.

Gwaine got on instantly with Clint, as I expected them to. They share so many qualities it would be astounding if they didn't. Oh the pranks they will pull together.

Lancelot, being the patriotic, loyal knight he is, found comfort in Steve's company. Steve and Lance spent hours talking about their pasts, sharing stories of their idiotic friends who don't know any boundaries.

Leon gets on with everyone and everyone loves him. He is constantly trying to help, which is very appreciated. All in all the Knights are welcomed like family. Tony even gave them rooms in the tower.

I have taken to patrolling the city every day, scouring for any signs of my love and the remaining knights. But nothing. No signs at all.

I begin to lose hope and head home when I hear a familiar shout from an alley. Interest peaked, I head towards the noise and am met with three very familiar faces.

I drop to the floor, separating the attackers from my friends. "Come on guys stabbing people isn't nice." I quip as I web the attackers to the wall, causing them to drop their weapons. Once satisfied I turn to my friends and let out a relieved sigh.

"You know I was beginning to think I would never find you." I say and bring them into a hug. Of course without the counter spell they still don't know who I am, but I am too choked up to use magic at the moment.

"Sorry do we know you." Arthur said awkwardly.

"Yeah you do. θυμάμαι" Their eyes hazed over for a second, their expressions blank. I wait impatiently for the life to return to their eyes, desperate for them to remember.

"P- Peter?" Percy mumbles in disbelief. Elyan and Arthur break into huge smiles as Percy crushes me in a hug.

"I have missed you. Come on let's go, Gwaine, Leon and Lance are waiting at the tower." We head off to the tower, caught up in conversation. Arthur seemed sad at the lack of Merlin. That made two of us.

Introductions this time were interesting. Everyone was slightly in awe that a literal king was standing in the common room. Even Tony seemed a little star struck. Arthur laughed it off, used to the stares.

I left them to it and returned to my room. As always I tell Karen to scan the city. I start to drift off to sleep, not bothering to hear the usual negative. However, frantic beeping rang out throughout the tower, jolting me out of bed.

"There's a match boss. Sending coordinates to your suit now." Karen said, very enthusiastic for a robot. I ripped the comforter of the bed and hastily pulled on my suit. I ran through the corridors to the common room, not stopping to answer any questions. I reached the window, flung it open and launched out, webbing my way downtown to find my Merlin.

"Boss, your heart rate has increased dramatically. I suggest you stop and rest."

"Rest can wait, Karen. I'm almost there." I reply, webbing at full speed down the streets. I reach a nice looking two storey house with a small front garden. Ivy wrapped up the front of the house, dressing the window panes. The door was a deep red, Merlin's signature colour. This has to be him, it just has to.

I walked quickly up to the door and rapped smartly against the red wood. After a few minutes, an old man opened the door.

"θυμάμαι" I say. This time the spell to effect quicker and Gaius broke out into a beaming smile.

"I am glad to see you again, my boy. Come in." Gaius said moving back from the door allowing me in. The house was very well decorated, with many many bookshelves scattered around the various rooms.

My eyes darted up the stairs, behind doors and into the darker corners of the room. Without even having to ask it, Gaius answered my burning question.

"He is outside." I shoot him a thankful smile and run through to the patio doors.

Tears well up when I see the ebony haired boy crouched down in front of a flower bed. His back is towards the house, so I take this chance to whisper the spell one more time.

As soon as the spell leaves my mouth Merlin's head jerks up. He spins around and lets out a choked sob. We lock eyes for a moment, frozen in place. I was the first one to shake out of my momentary blip. I run forward and jump into his arms, getting spun round by the force.

Merlin lets out a shaky breath and pulls back. With a smile he tugs off my mask, which I had forgotten about until that exact moment.

"I missed you." He whispered.

"Yeah?" I teased with a mischievous smirk.

"Yeah."

"What are you going to do about it?" I know I shouldn't tease, but I would be in floods of tears otherwise. Merlin chuckled lowly and pulled me forward.

After months of being apart (well years for Merlin which is even worse) we can finally revel in the feeling of lips moving as one. Out of habit I thrust my tongue into his mouth, drawing a deep moan from the back of his throat that makes my heart flutter.

After several minutes of passionate, hungry kisses we pull apart and I rest my head against Merlin's shoulder.

"I love you Merlin."

"I love you too."
