“Phew, that was tiring…” I said as I exited the indoor court. “Well, better shower and head over to Pastel*Palettes’s agency…I wonder why they wanted to meet there.”

“Hey, good work out there~,” a voice said behind me.

I spun around to see Tsukushi, smiling at me with her hands behind her back. I didn’t expect to meet Tsukushi at this time, she would usually already be home, shocked, I asked, “Hey Tsukushi, what are you doing here? Why are you still here?”

“Well, waiting for you of course, again.” she said as she stepped closer, putting her hands into her blazer pockets.

“Uhm, well actually...I got something to do today…Sorry Tsukushi,” I replied.

“Ugh, fine. But I gotta take a little tax off of you for making me wait this long,” she said, giving me a mischievous wink.

“Uhm, ok? Let me shower first though. I smell really bad.” I said as I headed over to the shower room. Stepping into the shower booth I could only hear the sound of my teammate’s footsteps and my thoughts. What could Tsukushi possibly want to talk about? Her feelings? A love confession? My heart was racing, but not as fast as my mind.

She did kiss my cheek, so Asuha could be right. Maybe she did have feelings for me. I do like Tsukushi back, but not “that way”.

“Ugh, feelings are so complicated,” I shuddered, as I turned on the shower, letting the refreshing cold water run down my face.

“Hold on, Himari asked me out too!” I completely forgot that she asked me out on a date the other day. “Well, I guess I’ll see what Tsukushi says to me first.” With a heavy heart, I stepped out of the shower booth, making sure to dry myself and change into some fresh clothes, not forgetting to spray cologne. I then headed out to look for Tsukushi with a nervous heart. I found her sitting on one of the benches near the school gate, absorbed at the sky.

I took a deep breath and approached her as quietly as I could. She looked longingly at the sky, swirls of orange and yellow decorated the red backdrop; it has been ages since I’ve last watched the sunset. The clouds slowly enveloped the setting sun, leaving traces of smaller clouds behind, I could look at this for ages. A gust of wind carried the decaying autumn leaves past me, arriving near Tsukushi.

She turned around, eyes focused on me, “Oh, hey! Took you long enough, slowpoke!” Tsukushi said as she got up and walked closer to me.

“How did you know it was me?” I asked, confused. “I barely made any sound approaching you.”

“Your cologne,” she replied. “How can I forget what it smells like...” she trailed off.

“Oh... So, what did you want to talk about?” I asked.

“W-well...the thing is...I uhm...I uh, d-don’t know how to say it.....I r-really...you know…” Tsukushi kept stuttering in between her sentences, but I already knew what she was going to say.

“You like me?” I said, finishing her sentence.

Tsukushi blushed like crazy and nodded. “Y-yeah, I do…But, I heard you got asked out by Himari.”

“H-huh? Y-yeah, I did…” I replied nervously. Oh no, was she mad at me for accepting her date invitation?

“Well, I can understand since we’re not official yet, but don’t think I’m going to give up!” she declared, pointing at me while she smiled ear to ear.

Well that was something I did not expect. It was in Tsukushi’s nature to get mad, but I think she’s respecting my boundaries, letting me make the decision myself.
