Her feet made light thumps on the carpeted floor. Her eyes were focused on her surroundings. She slowly stepped down and opened the door to her father's office. His focus was on some sort of wielding work. She stepped closer and pulled her axe out, swinging at him.

He caught it, "I don't think so!" he shouted, throwing her to the ground.

"Vanny, remember your movement. Use your inner strength." Glitchtrap reminded. She shouted and ripped the axe from his hands, slamming it into his chest with a sickening crunch as his ribs broke. She pulled it out swiftly and kept hacking at him. He took every hit until he was on the floor, his chest and stomach torn open from the axes attacks. Vanessa panted and watched as the color drained from his face. He laid motionless on the floor.

Not a sound was made from either of them. She made her way to her room and left the bloody axe behind. The gloves were made from a special material and so no fingerprints would be left behind.

She pulled her jacket off and revealed her dark blue sweater and her bleached ends of her long hair. Her mother gave in and let her bleach it a few days before. She kept it that way ever since, despite them both ridiculing her. She bagged up the gloves and hoodie. She hit at specific angles so her under clothes wouldn't be stained. Slowly, she stuffed the bag in her suitcase along with some things to hide it. She had her laptop and VR system, along with her necessities such as her toothbrush, hair brush and deodorant. She pulled her mask off, showing off her newly dyed rainbow bangs. Glitchtrap suggested it and she liked the look, so she pulled it off earlier that day and hadn't come down at all so her parents wouldn't see. She stuffed some clothes into her bag and her shoes from her grandmother. She could always wash and re-wear her clothes.

She threw her backpack over her shoulders and put her mask inside her suitcase. Thankfully, the mask had that clear coat on to protect it. Vanessa ran out the door, leaving it all behind. Her keys, her work ID, her memories, everything. She got into the old van her family never used and drove out of the garage and onto the driveway. Getting out, she pulled out some matches. She fiddled with them to try and break them off their stems. She dropped them and cursed under her breath.

"Screw it." She said, driving out and off to a far hotel. She had her permit and driver's license but was never allowed to drive. She stopped in the parking lot. She smiled and laughed.

"I-I did it...I'm free!" She said, looking at her hands, as if expecting a big marvelous change. She sighed and closed them. She grabbed a spare hoodie from the back and threw it on, concealing her identity.

"Just stay calm, my dear. The more nervous you act in front of them, the more suspicious they will become." Glitchtrap said.

"Yes, My Lord." She said. She took a breath and pulled her hood up. She got out and closed the door behind herself, carrying her bags with her.

"Do you have the money, dear?"

"Yeah, I took theirs and I have my own from my last day at work." She said, pulling out the wallet, showing the money inside.

"Wonderful, Vanny"

She smiled, liking his nickname for her. Belonging to him wasn't as bad as she first imagined. She felt like a weight was lifted from her shoulders. She felt like she could breathe. Like she could fully relax. She loved being his follower. Being his follower was better than most would think. She was a little reluctant at first, but she knew the right steps would prove this was the right choice.

Throwing herself against the freshly made hotel bed, she relaxed and felt relief wash over her. She began to surf through the TV channels and look for something to play in the background as she unpacked. Her eyes scanned around and she got up, pulling open her suitcase and getting a great, long, look at her mask.

"You did very well for a first kill, Vanessa." He said. She could feel a hand pet her head.

"Please, call me Vanny, My Lord." She said to him, her eyes flickering glints of purple as Glitchtrap faded in and out of reality, trying to keep a solid state to be able to interact better.

"As you wish, my dear." He said with a low chuckle.

"Is...this what you did before you...became this?" She asked, turning to him and holding the mask close to her chest.

"Yes, but I wasn't as mercifully quick as you were. Which in this case can do very well with my plan for you, dear." He said running his hand under her chin and gliding his fingertips along her jawline. She stared him in the eyes with a sense of answer from him. His fingers lightly flicked off her chin and he tapped her nose lightly with the same hand.

"Now time for bed, my dear. Once you wake up we mustn't stay. The key to this is to keep moving. Thankfully, I know all the best places to camp out." Glitchtrap said, his voice filled with a kind demeanor. Vanessa, or rather Vanny, tipped her head down and bowed to him on a knee.

"Yes, My Lord." She said, getting up and heading to the bed, closing her suitcase before then. As she relaxed for the night and drifted off into slumber, Glitchtrap watched her sleep peacefully. His laggy purple eyes staring at the resting girl.

Her willingness to serve pleased him. Not because of her being a basic slave but because she was free to choose now. A smile formed on his face, she was sure something. He had someone to trust with his plans. He was rather pleased with his choice. He had escaped and so had she. It was simply a grim paradise now, all full of blood and knives. Under his wing and mind she would simply get away with it all.

He would need to amp up her innocent charade to make sure no one can accuse her out of a blind eye or blatant word. He wouldn't let her get hurt again. Not by family or law. But why did this all bother him suddenly? The killing and law defying. He had been so fine with all the bluntness but now he wasn't sure.

What was this girl doing to him?
