Vanessa sat in the bed, watching Glitchtrap pace.

"My Lord, it was bound to have robots."

"They couldn't have kept it alive with a museum or something?..." He grumbled. Vanessa looked down in a bit of shame, "I'm sorry, Vanny. I don't mean to snap at you."

"It's alright, My Lord." She replied quietly. She got up and threw her hoodie on.

"I'm gonna go spectate the area."

"I'm coming with you, no telling what kind of people are planning similar things." He said, glitching out again.

"Alright." She said, stuffing her mask under her hoodie to hide it from any peaking eyes. Glitchtrap continued to watch for anything following or watching.

Vanessa was pushed to the side, a woman walking by and bumping shoulders with her rather roughly. Not being fully on her feet and aware, she hit the wall.

"Watch it!" She snapped at the woman. She didn't seem to hear Vanessa, either that or she was ignoring her. Vanessa growled under her breath.

"Vanessa, ignore them."

"No, she needs to feel the pain of being walked on. I wanna teach her a lesson." She pulled her mask out and slipped it on. She ran after the woman, sliding around the corner and seeing the woman had simply vanished.

"What?" Glitchtrap blurted out, confused.

"How did she do that?" Vanessa asked.

"I'm not sure."

They wandered down the sidewalk, looking into alleyways to see if the woman had disappeared into them. She gripped her butterfly knife, wanting to shove the blade into the lady's neck. Glitchtrap sighed, "Vanessa, don't bother. She looked like a harlot anyway, she isn't worth it."

"But, My Lord-"

"Vanny, Don't."

She sighed in defeat, "Yes, My Lord" she mumbled, removing her mask.

"Good girl, now return to the mall. We need to scope out weak points."

"Yes, My Lord." She acknowledged, running back and taking her mask off before someone saw her. Her eyes scanned around and she walked around the perimeter. She saw windows into the bathrooms but there were cameras around every corner. She cursed under her breath before she went inside, looking for areas she could get into easier. Her eyes fell among the sky light. She could find a way to get up there and hide before they closed.

"I think I have an idea." She went out and back to the van.

"What is it, my dear?" He said, a bit of a sinister smile on his lips. She laid out some paper and drew out ideas.

"We could go up into the sky light somehow and get in that way, we would need to get into the lowest point to reach the floor. We need to see if there's cameras around there and bust em if they are." She said, making hand motions along with her speech.

"Wonderful work, Vanny!" He said. He looked amongst her roughly sketched map of the view. Vanessa circled certain areas and pulled out her knife, staring in awe at the shiny holographic metal. Her eyes glinted with mischief, a small almost insane smile forming on her lips.

Slowly her eyes wandered over to Glitchtrap, who was looking over the plans and counting out times quietly. She couldn't help but stare at him in awe. Her eyes had a light glimmer in them, not one of murderous tendencies, but one of hope it seemed. She felt safe with him, she trusted him more than anyone. This path had to be right for her. So, why did it feel like something was wrong? Was she the problem, a problem even the most emotionless and crazy of them all couldn't handle?

Her eyes fell down lightly and she looked at her hands, now more clearly noticing the knife in her hands. Was she always this psychotic? She broke so many times how was it possible she was still regretting even thinking of killing those who began the seemingly endless cycle of abuse in her life?

Maybe she was still too innocent, this job wasn't meant for her. She looked at him. She had to try for him. This fondness for him was so deep she couldn't comprehend why or how it started, but she had to try so she could have a chance at least. His acceptance and approval were all that mattered and fueled her. She was simply drawn to him, opposites attracted. She was a lonely shy girl with issues towards herself and was too sensitive for her own good, he was a emotionless cold blooded man, ice in his veins. The one thing they shared in common with each other was that they were abused by home life. Parents not meant for their job, neglected to the point of horrible turn outs. Either way someone, no matter who, ended up dead by their hands.

Vanessa gripped her arms nervously, Glitchtrap could see her uneasiness as she stared at the floor. He raised his hand to her and lightly caressed her cheek, moving her uncut bangs from sight to see her bags beneath her eyes and her lightly flushed cheeks. He gave her a gentle smile, he knew it wasn't real but some part of him wanted to believe it was for her sake.

"You do not need to worry about what goes on. You forget I can hear your thoughts, dear. Your past does not define you." He was wrong on some points, but he denied she was at fault. He ignored the gracious thoughts towards himself from her. One of her past traits did indeed define her, she was going to be considered a murderer. But he would most certainly take the blame. He regretted making her do it but it was the only thing he could think of that would relieve her stress. Thank god, she couldn't read his thoughts like he could hers. He wasn't sure why she was the one exception to the entire shit storm. The things he normally declined changed for her. Perhaps she mattered more than anyone else in his past life.

Vanessa needed to keep her deep thoughts from him, despite him already hearing the ones that surfaced. She was becoming aware of what was happening to her emotions. The crazed swings in her mood, the flushing in her face, the churning in her stomach when thinking of him. It was all pointing to one thing. But, she couldn't waste time on it, she would run him off. She wouldn't be able to handle that. He was the one person to care truly enough to get her out of her home life.

Perhaps they both had a chance at something.
